All those giant cathedrals, and mosques, and temples, and all the other mega-buildings of worship… why are they so big? I can see maybe trying to show the glory of God but honestly I think it might also have something to do with impressing people and domination and fear. And God does not need a giant church to be worshiped.
Is it also for the huge crowds that they get?
Where do all those doors and passageways lead to? Is a lot of the space just attic space or air or does every nook and cranny have a purpose? Like a special room to hold the priest's clothes. And another room for the quarters of the monks and stuff. And a giant library. Etc. Are there churches like that that just endlessly go on with tunnels and passageways and doors and stuff?
