Nook vs Kindle? Which is better?

I'm contemplating getting an eReader. I've had a nook before but had to sell it due to the fact that I was wanting a laptop. Now I want another reading device but am torn between which one to purchase. The nook simple or the old kindle? I know that if you preorder a book on kindle it automatically pops up on your home screen at midnight- do the same rules apply for nook?

What are the top 10 best tablets?

I'm looking for a good tablet. I like IPads, but I've never actually gotten the chance to use one. I've been doing some research. I also like the Nook HD+. I just want opinions on which ones you think are the best. I would prefer a cheaper one that would last quiet awhile. I want one that's over 8 inches. The ones I've been looking at mostly are the newest IPad, the newest Kindle Fire Hd 8.9 and the Nook HD+. Any tablet out right now would be fine. Just let me know what you think. Setting up a Nook overseas?

My boyfriend broke his Nook right before he deployed to Afghanistan (literally the day before-poor guy). He says it still works, just the screen is broken. I wanted to surprise him with a new one and send it over there.Is there any way I can transfer the books he has on the old one to his new one? Or would I need his login info? If not, he says that his CO has a bunch of books on his Nook that he was going to download… can he do that overseas if he only occasionally has access to wifi? I don't want to buy the Nook if it's just going to turn into a paperweight until he gets back.

Do I have some kind of mental disorder?

I am so paranoid all of the time. The first thing I became paranoid about was someone close to me dying in a car accident. This became when my friend's older sister died in a car accident. I didn't even really know her sister, but it was so traumatic for me because I was at her house when it happened.So I had to ride with then to the hospital and everything. This isn't my biggest problem though.At night when I'm laying in my bed about to go to sleep, I always get scared that someone is going to come into my house and kill me and my family. I have to check all around the house in every nook & cranny so I can get justification that no one is there. But that still doesn't help. I feel like i have to pray a certain amount of prayers to God to make sure that none of this will happen and it just never seems like enough.So I drive myself crazy thinking what could happen to me or my family.My mind plays tricks on me a lot, too, when it's dark. One time it was raining and i started crying because i didn't want a tree to fall on my house. I also am afraid a fire is going to start. Any catastrophie terrifies me and i get worked up over the littlest things.It is really overwhelming me and i know something is wrong. What mental disorder does this sound like to you?

I want to work at Barnes and Noble, but.?

I love reading & I'll be 16 years old soon, so working at Barnes and Noble would be my dream job (for my teenage years at least).
I really want to work there this summer, but I don't have any previous work experience.
Along with the job application, is a sheet that asks you about other places you've worked at.
I haven't worked anywhere else, b/c I'm still young. Plus, the minimum age to work there is 16, so age wouldn't be a problem for me.
Will they not hire me if I have no work experience?

Bought a book on Nook Color, but it suddenly says it's a sample?

I bought a book for my Nook Color. I know I paid for it. However, while reading it, it suddenly stopped me and said I've reached the end of my sample and if I wanted to read the rest, I had to pay for it! I refuse to pay for it twice. This was on the B&N site, mind you, so it's not my device that's glitching. I logged out and logged back in, thinking it would fix the problem, but it did not. Nothing on the book icon says it's a sample. I have a sample of a different book, so could that be causing it to glitch?
Added (1). It may just be the site because out of curiosity, I tried looking at other books I have, and it says they're all samples. Has that happened to you before? My Nook is charging, which is why I was using the site in the first place.
