Barnes & Noble rehire eligibility after quitting?

Hi! About 4 months ago I quit my job working in the cafe at Barnes & Noble.No, I did not give prior notice. I had to relocate immediately because my mom was in a bad accident. Now I am attempting to work in a different store (the first one closed), but before they officially rehire me they are going to see if I am even eligible. Does anyone have a similar experience? Should I expect to be laughed at for even trying? Do you think that I will be eligible?

USB device not recognized: Help!

I plug in my NOOK to the computer, and it says "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED", I take it out and put it in again, I already did that for abour 3 times, and it's not working. WHAT DO I DO? I want to put music in it, but as I said… Device, NOT RECOGNIZED
Added (1). I connect it, and the orange light does turn on, but it still says USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED:(

Whoever came up with the slogan about idle hands has never seen me at work!

Waiting for tonight's array of Fireworks and related grass fires, etc. I stay busy preparing for "the worst" potentials. Preparing my many garden hoses, my grassfire SWATTERS (Dad built a few unusual-devices to fight grass fires during the years when he was my neighborhood's Firechief during the 1970's.

I am staying busy as a beaver. My mind runs into every nook-and-cranny searching for potentials, which - in my line of work keeps me in so much trouble!

Myself staying so busy, I debate the saying that says "an idle mind is The Devil's workshop."

I apply the saying "The busier I get, the more trouble seems to follow me!"

What am I overlooking?

The Count of Monte Cristo theme quotes?

I have to write an essay about the theme of The Count of Monte Cristo and chose Revenge and Edmonds transformation to the Count and back as the two most important themes in the book. The problem is that i'm having some trouble finding specific quotes to back up my thoughts. If anyone could provide some quotes I would be very grateful.
