Nook, Ipad, Kindle, etc?

I'm thinking about getting my girlfriend some kind of nook/ipad/kindle/tablet etc for her birthday. She loves to read soccer books (she is from England and plays), and I realized that there are a ton of e-books etc about soccer that are free! So I wondered if maybe it would be a good idea to get her one?

I'm really unsure about the differences between all of these gadgets, even after trying to research about them. I know I wouldn't want one as small as a phone, but not as big as a large Ipad either. Somewhere between there, maybe like the size of a paper-back book, that kind of thing? I also know I'd like it to light up so she can read it at night, but not glare in the sunlight too much. And it would be cool if it was touch screen so she could play games such as candy crush on it, and read her books etc, and if it used wifi obviously. And in color.

All she has is a little Ipod 4 that's slow and lags, so I thought this would be a good idea for her.

Another issue is, we are broke college students. I really can't afford to spend more than forty dollars. Do they even sell anything that cheap? I doubt it. Either way, if they do, just ignore this question and tell me about everything anyway. Maybe I can save up.

I want to get a job. I'm 14 and its legal in Georgia?

I really believe it would be a good idea to get a job. The money would be good and need something to occupy my mind.
I tried bookstores but none are hiring. Can I work at Barnes and Nobles?
Can I work at my local library?
I'm into reading,writing, and anything artistic so I'm trying to find a place like that before applying at a fast food restaurant or someplace like Walmart or Kroger.

What books should I buy?

I recently got a gift card for Barnes and Noble's and I plan on spending it online because sometimes the books are cheaper online than if I bought them in the store. The last time I got books from their website I discovered the used books which were cheaper but didn't qualify for free shipping. I just wanted to know if it was cheaper to get the new books with free shipping or if it was cheaper to get the used books with regular shipping costs. Thanks.

How possible is this dream?

I want to open a scifi/fantasy bookstore, maybe with comics too. I want there to be a café-ish section because all good bookstores have a café-ish section. This'll be in like ten years from now, when I'll have more money, hopefully. I want to have a raised part on one side of the cafe with the back painted chalkboard and people can perform spoken word or comedy routines or plays or ANYTHING on the weekends when it's BYOB. Hopefully weed will be legalized by then and I'll sell edibles at this time. On your average night it'll be b-horror and cult-classic movie showings on a projection screen. There'll be nooks and crannies in the bookstore part with droopy couches for people to chill. I miss places like this and want to make my own. I'll live above. I'm really bad at knowing when something I'm thinking of is possible or not, though. So I'd love some input on whether or not this just sounds like a really stupid dream.

I'm your normal nerd who is 13 almost 14 and slowly running out of room in my bedroom for my comic books video games dvds blu rays vhs tapes books and more I love all of them and wont get rid of them but I am considering going digital to save room also for books if I get a nook would the books be cheaper I read a lot and can you buy comic books cheaper I also want to know if I should stay physical for stuff like my retro video games my vhs tapes comic books and magic the gathering cards what about my magazines is there Nintendo powers on the nook thinking of getting nook if the books are cheaper and you can get magazines like Nintendo power

Why does my copy of Hamlet have a perforated section?

I bought the Barnes & Noble Shakespeare edition of Hamlet, which I have been enjoying. But, coming to act five scene one I found that there are several pages perforated at the top and shorter than the rest of the book's contents. I also counted some of the lines, and am afraid that at least five lines are omitted due to this formatting. The page numbers are consistent, but I'm still unsure if the plays integrity remains!

Am I wrong or is it my OCD behavior?

My mother in law asked me to borrow my home shampooer, I was caught off guard not knowing she was going to ask me the question and my response was yes but as I realized later tonight I do not want to let her use it tomorrow because she owns 4 cats which one of them poops, urinate & vomits all over her household carpets I mean everywhere.

Now with that being said I have children a 9 & 3 year old in my home however I feel like the germs, bacteria and fecal juices and cat hair will just be nasty and disgusting in my shampooer no matter how clean I clean it or pull it apart to get in the nooks and crevices its beyond your imagination the way the cat just bowel here and there vomits here and there and to bring it back on my home to use on my carpet with my kids feels like I'm traveling nastiness am I wrong for thinking this way or is this just common sense or OCD talking to me and if you were in my shoes what would you do when you told her she can use it lie that something's wrong or never pick it up again?
Added (1). My husband told me to tell his mother that are dog chewed the cord while it has been stored in the garage and just found out so we have to take it in to get the cord inlet replaced wow thanks everyone

Resetting and re-registering?

I erased and reset my nook tablet after deciding to sell… Then i started to think, then i decided to keep it…

The problem was i had three subscriptions. Does it automatically deletes my subscription and if i resubscribe will they double charge me a month?

I have reader's block…HELP?!

okay, to begin with, I love reading books. I love going to my local book stores and get what I wish to read. Even going yard sale shopping and thrift store shopping to get the cheapest books then barnes n noble. But ever since my 2nd yr of community college started, my reading time and interest of picking up a book has faded away slowly. Especially this yr when I have more classes to take and most of my free time r studying and school work. I don't want to loose that habit and yet I don't want to forget school work either. Oh and when I do get free time, I either sleep more due to class schedule being full and check my laptop.
please tell me what I should do? How can I get back into the habit of reading again?

What happened that made her annoyed?

I started dating a girl about 3 weeks ago. My first impression is she's seems very soft spoken and somewhat quiet. We went on a date Friday and things went fairly well. Sunday I was close to here area at Barnes and Noble and I texted her to see if I could come over to her house to hang out. It was 2 in the afternoon and she told me she was still in her pajamas and that she might just go out to Barnes and Noble to meet me.

after she got there she came up to me with an annoyed look on her face and said wait a minute what should we do. I said we should maybe go out to eat somewhere. She looking annoyed said then why the hell am I here. This is not where I live so why did you say you were near my area. Even more angry.

Hairspray in the dryer?

I sprayed hairspray into my dryer without thinking about fires. Now I'm worried. Is wiping with water enough?

I was trying to get ink stains out and didn't research thoroughly enough before spraying. Also I sprayed directly into the whole back of the dryer, not just onto a cloth. I know now it was dumb, but is wiping with a wet cloth enough to prevent a fire the next time I plug it in and run it? They're all those holes and nooks and crannies that hairspray can go that my cloth can't.

How to get over fear of speaking to people?

I can talk to crowds no problem, but when I'm asked to speak with people one on one (especially strangers) I freak out and occasionally start crying. For example, I may have left my nook tablet at my local rec center, but I am too afraid to go to the desk and ask for it. Is it because I'm embarrassed? I don't know. Ugh. All my husband does is play video games?

We live in an apartment, we have one child and another one due in May, and all he does is play video games.
As soon as he wakes up he grabs the nook and plays a Pokemon game.
Then he goes in the living room and gets on the Xbox and plays one of his games, and every day I have to remind him that he needs to go to work, and he'll just say "I know…" In his depressed little, "Poor me, God forbid I don't get to play games constantly" voice. Even when he goes to work he takes the Nook with him to play games when no one is watching.
As soon as he gets home, he barely says hi to me, walks right past our daughter, completely ignoring her, grabs a controller, and plops down in front of the TV about 2 feet away and start playing his stupid games.
I've told him that it seems to me that our daughter and my self are last priority to him when it comes to playing video games.
Our second child is due in May and I'm worried all he's gonna do is sit around playing video games while I chase after our toddler and try to take care of our new baby.
And he doesn't just play video games at our apartment, if we go visit my mom he brings the nook, and a zelda game to play on the wii, as soon as we walk in he runs to the TV and puts in his game, and starts playing, and while the game on the wii loads he plays part of his game on the nook, and we have to drag him away to eat lunch with us, and as soon as he's scarfed down his food he runs back to the TV and doesn't pay any attention to my mom and I, let alone our daughter who adores him because she's too young to realize he doesn't give a crap about anyone but him.
I've tried playing his games with him, I've beat all the assassins creed games, the halo games, diablo, minecraft, borderlands 1 & 2, and while we play he just treats me like I'm some guy friend who it's okay to yell at when I do something wrong.
Or while he's talking to someone else on Xbox live I'm just "the wife".

Would it be okay to leave my employment history blank on an application?

Simple and fresh and fair from winter's close
