Why is my cat chewing on cords?

Recently, my cat's been chewing on my cords for my DS, Nook Color, phone charger and my headphones. He's broken my phone charger and several of my headphones. Any advice to why he does that? He also like to chew on a purse for some reason, but I've had to put it up somewhere so he couldn't chew on it.

Books in my nook color showing up blank?

When I get a new book it downloads fine, shows up in my library and everything. When I go to open it it opens like usual… except the pages are completly blank! All my old books show up fine, this only happens to any new books I download.Im not sure if this matters but I download directly from my nook. Does anyone know why this is happening?

So ive been saving up all my money and i now have $100.(This is all my money) I was planning on redoing my room (when i move) into complete beach theme with my money but now my dad just bought an ipad 4 and im not allowed on it but i really want a tablet so i was looking on craigslist and found a nook hd for $100. Should i spend it on my room once i move ( in 4-5 months) or buy the nook hd like tomorrow?

Nook Book not downloading?

I got a Nook Simple Touch and I bought a book. I hit confirm when I chose to download and all it says is "Downloading" and it's been like that ever since. I've tried turning it off and turning it back on and disconnecting but it's not doing anything. I still shows the "downloading" word. When I go to my library, it says it's "connecting" but won't change either.

What's going on?

Different Forms of Literature?

I was at Barnes & Noble tonight, and I picked up a new book. Thing is, it's a 374-page novelization written by John Shirley about the subject matter of the Gearbox video game Borderlands.It's called, "Unconquered" and it follows the Hunter character Mordecai.

I read "The Fallen" by the same author last year, which talks about the Soldier, Roland and just loved it! I couldn't put it down. However, people actually ask me why I choose to read books like these since their not "original" works, which seems to imply they don't consider them to be "valid literary works." So my question is this:

Do you consider books such as these to be "valid" forms of literature? Or would you think of them as being glorified pieces of fanfiction? What separates books about pre-existing subject matter from books about original content if we enjoy reading them? Isn't that the point?

Is it better to get a Nook HD+ or to just go ahead and get a tablet?

I was at Barnes & Noble looking at the Nook HD+ and it seems very tablet-y to me. I was considering getting one, but wanted to get some opinions on if it was more worth it to just get the Nook, or to go ahead and go all out and get a tablet. I was initially looking to get an e-reader, but as I do most of my online activity on my phone, as opposed to a computer, it may be better for me to get a tablet so I can have the larger screen and portability.It seemed that the Nook HD+ had web, gaming, video, etc. Capabilities, so I'm wondering what the difference is between it (functionally) and a regular tablet--or if it's just Nook's version of a tablet. I'm also looking for suggestions as to which tablet(s) are the best, if that's the route you think I should go.

Do the police actually want you to drive the speed limit?

I noticed in my area the highway dept has carved out nooks on the on ramps for CHP officers to park and aim their radar guns down on the highway. Not to mention the infinite hiding & maneuvering techniques and spots they use to nail you.So I wondered what if everybody drove the speed limit? How much of a fiscal impact would this have on a municipality that depends so heavily on revenue generated from speeding violations since they have built an entire industry in effect around the speed limit?
Can you imagine even if they had a HUGE drop in speeding infractions at least for even one day the money they would lose?

My nook tablet got hot and wouldn't turn on.
Once it did cool down I pressed the power button and it came on.It said the battery was dead and then i went to charge it and the First Nook home page and the read forever page kept appearing and then it went off.

I want to switch from the Nook to the Kindle, however, I have literally hundreds of books purchased and saved on my Nook or in my B&N cloud. I would like to transfer these books to the Kindle if possible so that I may sell the Nook, but not lose the books.Is this possible? Even if the way to do it isn't exactly condoned…

No violent answers, please.My sister had to move in with me for a bit bringing a cat with her. This animal is a problem for me.It follows me everywhere.It disrupts my reading by jumping on my lap and rubbing my Nook constantly.No matter how many times I take it off my bed and yell at it, it keeps jumping back up. Often cleaning himself there.

I try to ignore it. I yell at it when it is in places I would rather it not be.It should be more focused on my sister.It should sleep 20 hours per day. How do you make such an odd beast lose interest in you?

I don't want a book with steps but more someone telling a story and how they learned to deal. Also, I am getting this book on my Nook so please choose books available from Barnes and Noble.
More specifically..most of the books i find are child molestation and dealing with family members who committed the act… i am looking for one that is more sexual assault and between someone you were friends with. Why did my Nook color just reset itself?

Nook Color and Tumblr?

I own a Nook Color and while at first I thought it was the greatest thing, now I am not so sure.To start, when I am on the internet, it freezes a lot and I have to start all over again. The second thing is tied to a particular site- Tumblr. While I attempt to make a new post to my second blog, the drop down menu to select said secondary blog with not drop. Nothing will, including to save to drafts, queue, or publish now. I am unable to reblog anything to the secondary blog either. This is really inconvenient for me.My Nook has version 1.4.3, I have archived everything and still no luck. Also, it seems like it is not holding a charge. Any suggestions as to solve these problems? I have the new nook 2012. Not too long ago I bought a new Nook Tablet cord, and it worked great and nothing has happened to it, but the Nook, despite the cord looking and seeming to work fine, says it is not charging.Is there a problem with my Nook or the cord? I woke up from my sleep and walked out the door. I was living in a tall skinny brown building. I decided to stop at Starbucks and get myself something to drink, it was a tall white mocha for any of you wondering. The next stop for me was at Barnes and Nobles bookstore. I did some reading, mostly reading from the magazine section. The time flew by really fast because when I looked outside the window it was already night.It was time for me to go home but first I grabbed something to eat. When I was finished eating my food I left for my house. The road to my house consisted of a few houses, a couple of stores and large park and many trees of different shapes and sizes. I was walking towards the park and when I got near it I spotted a glowing white object. I went to see what it was and found a strange circled object with an unknown symbol. I took it home with me and placed in the inside pocket of my jacket.As I got home I set the object down on my night desk that was next to my bed. The next day I woke up on only to find the object was missing. I searched the entire room and house and not one sign of that object was found.As I was searching the house a knock was heard on my door. I went to open the door and saw myself standing in front of another man. He opened his hand and showed me the object I lost.My name and address was carved into the object. I reached for the object a lady screamed looking up into the sky. Everyone including me was stunned at what was appearing in the sky. A large circle was starting to form and inside three more circles. A beam of light hit my entire body and I was lifted in the sky and then placed on the top of my building where I lived.As I was standing on top of the building an eye appeared and it opened up. Inside the eye was a gold diamond. I couldn't move or speak, it was like my whole entire body was paralyzed and I was terrified uknowing what the symbol in the sky was planning on doing with me. The symbol in the sky shot a light towards the people on the streets and it evaported anyone and anything it touched. People's bodies just torched and nothing was left behind. A man in a black suit pulled out a gun from his pant's pocket and shot the symbol in the sky which caused it to set me free from my paralyzation. The building was really high and I couldn't jump. Another man came right behind me and pushed me off the building, but before I touched the ground my body was transmitted to an unknown location and I was inside a small room with no doors, no windows, a table and one chair, and one light. A man wearing a grey suit came in the room.

" What's going on and where am I" I said to the man

" I'll explain later, right now you need to come with me" Said the man

"I'm not going anywhere until I know what the is going on here and what was that in the sky" I said to the man

" That thing you saw in the sky was a God from another planet in another dimmension and that object you stole was stolen from them a long time ago by a group of people here on earth and that got them mad because that object was sacred to them, so when they found the object they… will you know what happened.

"ok, so what do we do now?" I asked the man

" Now We Go and return that object you found and return it to them" Said the man

" Ok that sounds easy, I have it right here" I said

" The problem is other people from this planet and other planets want to get there hands on that object and control Gods" Said the man

" But why do you need me? I asked

Do you remember when you were pushed off the building?" Said the man

"Yes" I said

"That guy tried to kill you" Said the man

" Ok so how do I protect myself?" I asked

" Here take gun and kill anoyone before they kill you and dont hesitate" Said the man

"Hey, what's your name" I asked the man

" Righ now you can call me J as in the letter J" Said J

We then went outside and I was shocked at what I saw. We were in another dimmension said the J and that our planet earth was under attack. He told me not to worry about the people and that they were in a safe location. We left in a car and went into a vortex and landed in aonther planet. This planet was the home of the Three Gods and we were here to return the object. When he got out of the car a man pulled out a gun and shot at the car and it exploded. J pushed me on the ground and pulled out a gun and shot the other man.

J told me that was a defender of this planet and they think were here to control the Gods. He told me that they were not interested in conversation that they're main duty was to kill any outsiders of this planet. We also had to be aware of anyone who might want to kill us for the Object.

Why won't my Nook color let me read my books?

I've had my Nook color for a couple months, and it has always worked fine. But yesterday I went to open up a book and the screen just went black.It did that with all of my books. The other apps and everything still work fine. Does anyone know what's wrong or how I can fix it?
