Do I follow up or not?

I sent my application to Barnes and nobles 3 days ago. When I sent the app Barnes and nobles sent me an email telling me they got my online application. But at the end of the email it said "Please note that due to the volume of resumes we receive, we may only contact candidates selected for follow up." I don't really understand what this statement means. Does it mean they only contact people who follow up? Does it mean I can't follow up? I don't know! Help Dx

What do you do at meet and greet?

I'm going to meet Kane(wwe) on June 14 in Columbus Ohio at Barnes and noble. I was wondering, like do you get a photo with him or does he just sign things? I was just curious thank you!

How to afford to live alone?

I live near aurora colorado, average rent is going up really high because of all these pot heads, and someone who has never smoked weed in their life is suffering for it.
I make 1200$ a month, on 40 hours a week, and after summer my hours will drop. That's not really a big deal because I can get a second job, but right now I need to focus on moving before I get a second job, because there is no way I will be able to take the bus to both jobs and then have time to tour, do applications, and move, so that does have to wait for now. The problem is most people in my area want three times the rent, and there isn't anywhere that offers rent for 400$ or less, especially with everyone moving out here and not having jobs, or a good income.

It's the first time I'd be living alone, and my dad is kicking me out, I am 22, and all of my friends/co workers either live out of state or don't have anywhere for me to stay.

I have no idea what to do, if there is somewhere I apply for low income housing, or just call around to places that aren't listed, or what. No I will not go to craig's list to search for a roomate, I value my life, sad as it may be at the moment, but I know I have to be out within the week, as he hasn't tried to hand my rent money back, so I think he's giving me until then.
Added (1). ++
You don't know my situation, so kindly appreicate it if you didn't assume you did.
Since the day I got a job my dad was requesting that I pay rent, and until I turned 18 I usually go to keep 20-40$ which went to my phone bill. My father is disabled, and couldn't make rent by himself so I've been paying rent since I was 16 years old.

It's been me and him, that's it. It's been me keeping 100$ out of my paycheck each week and paying for MY food, MY phone, and MY things.
Good try sweets.

Should I include this in my job application?

I am a 17 year old applying to Barnes & Noble for a job as a bookseller, but I might possibly leave to visit my mother in Thailand during this summer for about 2-3 weeks. My parents are getting divorce and I have not seen my mother in 6 months, so it is very important to me that I go and see her. As I'm writing about my availability, I'm not sure if I should include this. Will it make it less likely for me to get the job? I already feel as if I'm making myself look bad because of my lack of experience and availability.

Looking for a good manga on nook for around $5?

I generally like shonen jump titles but I equally read shojo beat titles. I love things that are deep and have good story development. No death note though. I've seen/iriiffed on rifftrax… Ty anyways.

p.s. I literaly have an eclectic taste in anime. Lol.

Chance that I get these Jobs?

OK so I am 18 yo Male currently attending CC with a 4.0 through a year of coursework. My only work experience was a yearlong paid internship at a journalism/Media company.

I have applied to Vitamin Shoppe, Walgreens, CVS, Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, Zales, Kays, Ashleys (Furniture), and an automotive company as a social media rep.

I am very weak on references but strong nearly everyplace else. If I make it to the interview stage I am likely to get the job.

So what are the chance I at least get a callback from these places?

It is good that Barnes and Noble asked for a background check?

It is good that Barnes and Noble asked for a background check?
Added (1). I got an email, two weeks after interviewing for Barnes and Noble (two interviews total), that Barnes and Noble requested an interview. Is this a good thing? Does that mean they want to hire me?

I have an interview at B&N-what should I wear?

I have an interview at Barnes and Noble today. What should I wear? I thought of black slacks and cotton a 3/4-sleeve top… One I have is black with white shirt cuffs and the other is a black V-neck with a white faux layer and flowers on the neck. Which would be best? Is a cotton 3/4 sleeve even appropriate? The interview is for a barista/customer service position. Thanks!

Isn't it funny how bad words turn into good words, and vice versa?

Sucks- originally short for "sucks c0ck" now a tv friendly word meaning "bad."

Nookie - derived from the word "nook," originally a very dirty word for a woman's privates, as bad as c*nt, now a cute tv word for sex, usually between mom and dad.

F*ck - originally a farming word meaning "to sow seed," now one of the dirtiest words in our language.

The list goes on…
Added (1). I almost forgot f-ggot, which originally just meant "bundle," then meant cigarette, finally ended up being an offensive word for a gay man.
