I asked if she was works everyday and she said yes. Then I said haha making that paper and she was like mhmm bread for days. I got a haircut and changed my profile pic and she commented on it with "better'. She seems to have a good plan about her future. She wants to finish school and save money to move to LA just like me. She's cute and funny too. I wonder if she knows I like her or if she likes me? She asked if i was Mexican (which i am) bc she was curious. Then i asked what ethnicity she was and she told me and joked about how she's really just a white thug. She asked if i work in the music business and I told her i want to someday and she said now i feel like a loser. I told her that she shouldn't feel like a loser and that she has good goals and I believe she can achieve them. I went to this girls grad party and i like her. She's so sweet/adorable i don't know how she's single. She said she really likes my haircut and it really fits me/looks good on me. Someone noticed her tattoo and she showed us and I joked and was like i was thinking about getting a unicorn with thug life written under it and made her laugh. I was going to ask her out and ask for her phone number but i was standing right by her when this really awkward guy asked for it..she said she'd give it to him on fb. She told me she doesn't like him because he's really awkward. After he left we took a nice walk to look at each others cars. When I left i gave her a hug and I told her i had a nice time and she said thanks for coming, we should hang sometime.So do you think she might like me and do you think i did the right thing by not asking for her number right after the other guy asked for it. Thought about if we hung out take her to barnes & noble, dinner, and a movie, or ice cream/movie. Then if i got a 2nd date mb go to go kart and putt putt. She's 18 and i'm 22 btw.

How to fix my nook hd?

I dropped my nook hd from a short distance.As far as I know everything appears to be in working order except that the power/sleep mode button will not work. Since I haven't been able to get the power button to work I have left it on the charger. I have tried holding the power button + the U button for up to 50seconds over 15 times with no change. I can't find any guides on disassembling the nook HDs. Any of you out there have a suggestion for me to resolve this issue?

How to get Sharpie off of a tablet?

K, so my sister got a Nook for her birthday. She set it on something that had recently been drawn on with Sharpie so the ink was still wet and now there is Sharpie all over the back. Like the screen and stuff is ok, but it is all on the back and we can't get it off. All sudgestions would be helpful and appreciated. We have tried rubbing alcohol, a magic ereaser and masking tape. She doesn't want to use anything that might hurt the tablet but she also wants the marker gone. Please help.

Can i put previously owned books on a nook?

Hello, I was thinking about buying my boyfriend a Nook for his 21st as he's always reading, and was wondering whether you can add books onto the nook by copy and pasting them from a computer (aslong as the file format is supported) because I already have the whole series of his favourite books and was going to add them on there for him.

I personally still prefer to hold the book between my hands, but e-readers are cheaper, save space, time, and money when buying online from Amazon or Barnes.

Compass Test Problems?

Okay, so here's the thing. I was in the top 15 in my class. Sounds good, right? I took the SAT and ACT, and did great in Science, but the rest not as good.So Columbus State University told me i have to do the Compass Math, Reading and Writing test to just get accepted in Columbus State. I took a few practice tests… and OH MY… they are somewhat difficult. A LOT of this stuff i did not learn in High School. I've been practicing the Math, but i'm freaking out about it. I take the test on July 19th, and if i don't do well on it, then i'm going to have to wait for a Spring Semester i think, and i don't want to do that.
I bought a Compass Exam Secrets Study Guide from Barnes and Noble, and it's been helping me some. I'm just very worried. Cause i'm not even accepted. I need y'alls' opinion… or support. If you could just let me know what it's going to be like, i would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Which two Criterion Collection movies should I buy (from the ones on my list)?

Until July 29th the Criterion Collection movies are half off at Barnes & Noble. I can only get two and I have narrowed down my list but now it's getting really difficult to choose. I have seven films left on my list (and I have only seen one).

1. L'avventura (1960)- Michelangelo Antonioni
2. L'eclisse (1962)- Michelangelo Antonioni (This is the one I have seen.)
3. Pandora's Box (1929)- Georg Wilhelm Pabst
4. Breathless* (1960)- Jean-Luc Godard
5. Rushmore* (1998)- Wes Anderson
6. On The Waterfront* (1954)- Elia Kazan
7. Band Of Outsiders* (1964)- Jean-Luc Godard

Above I have included the film titles, years, and directors; and the ones with the * means that film is a blu-ray disc. I might suggest looking on the Criterion Collection website to see what the features are for each film.
I would really appreciate anyone's help and opinion on which two films I should get, especially since I have only seen L'eclisse. Thanks!

(I would also like any suggestions of films I should see or buy in the future from the Criterion Collection, maybe if you have a favorite that I don't have on my current list.)

Does Rosetta Books change the text of books when they make the ebooks?

I'm confused. I need to read this book before school starts. I have a kindle and I want to buy the book on it. I was on Amazon and they have the paper back of the book Slaughterhouse five by Kurt V. And it has the original cover. Then they have an ebook that is a totally different cover and it says rosetta books on the cover. I looked on the school website and it says that an ebook is Available.So I'm not sure. I looked on Barnes and nobles website to see if it is the same as amazon. & their ebook has the same exact cover as the paperback! So I need to know because I don't want to buy and read the same wrong book. I bought the wrong book for a class because the ebook from amazon wasn't the right book.So please help me!

Nook by Barnes and Nobles help?

My Nook will connect to my home WIFI network and says it has full bars but then will not pull up any pages on the internet.It also has a error message that says "limited or no internet access" while I'm sitting on the other side of the room with the router. How can I fix this?

So I wrote a paranormal a few years ago and got absolutely no where with it.So this time I published something a little bit different; I went with a reality- based comedy.It's basically the story of a young girl, Allie, who's family inherits some land after a relative's death & uproots her from her life. Can't sign in to netflix on PS3?

I recently got a PS3 I downloaded Netflix to it because I already have a Netflix account and this is my problem: I start up Netflix, log into my PSN account and select that I have an existing Netflix account and then put in my Email and password and hit continue.An error then comes up that the Email is in an invalid format. How else are you supposed to enter an email address besides "user@email.com"?

What could the problem be? Is it possible that the email has to be same one used for the PSN account? I have used Netflix on my Wii, computer, Nook e-reader, 3DS, a Seagate Theater+ (Device for playing videos and music and viewing pictures on an external hard drive on a TV), and my phone and it works just fine on those. The only other devices I haven't gotten it working on are a blu-ray player because it keeps coming up with an error that it can't connect to Netflix, never mind that the internet connection is just fine, and my Xbox360 because you have to pay like $50+ a month for the Xbox live gold account to use just about anything besides the games on that thing.

Anyway, can somebody help me out here? Please? I would be most grateful if anyone could help figure out how to make it work. If anyone has any thoughts on the blu-ray player I would be interested on that too, although I don't hold much hope for that because it's a Magnavox-Phillips and I think that could be part of the problem. The Phillips DVD/VCR combo I had was a piece of junk, DVD went out and there was no help for that at all, just troubleshooting tips for the VCR which worked perfectly until it tried to chew up one of my tapes.

Anyway, a big thank you to anyone who can help me with my PS3 issue. Everything I have found so far is either the same error that comes up on the Blu-ray player or related to PSN outage which is long since over. Thanks again for any help that can be offered on this!

How to follow up after applying for a job online?

I am currently trying to find a job in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles. I go into stores all over town and about 80% of the time they tell me to go online and fill out an application. I have done this so many times and have never gotten a call from any of them. I have called into a couple stores to let them know I'm still interested, but this still doesn't produce results.

So what is the best way to follow up after you have applied online? I would prefer answers from any of you out there who may be a current hiring manager at any place that takes applications online, (e.g. Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, Cheesecake Factory,) or anybody who has been hired by a similar establishment. What do you think made you stand out above the rest for getting that position?

Most recently I applied to Barnes and Noble as a bookseller, and that would really be the ideal position for me.

Today, I bought the new NOOK HD. I was told it had 8 GB of space, but when I checked under Device Settings, it only had about 5 GB. I'm hoping this is worth it. I'd like to know more about it!

My Swamp Cooler is full of yellow Jackets, they are in every nook and cranny?

I was trying to replace the pads and got attacked & stung. I used 5 cans of that kill spray & those stinging machines still kept coming out.they built nests inside all the metal tubing & places. I finally had to disconnect the cooler & place it a table outside so I could spray water in every spot. Now regarding the inside WILL IT HURT THE MACHINE IF I GET SOME WATER ON THAT FAN THING I THINK ITS THE COMPRESSOR? Its inside it and it is a round metal thing with fan blades in it.will it hurt it?
thanks..Cause I cant think of any other way to get those bugs out.

Does being an assistant manager or manager look good to colleges, do they care?

If you're assistant manager or manager at your job like Barnes and Nobles or something, doe that look good on your college application when transferring to 4 year from CC? Do they even care about that stuff? The thing is, I'm not going to make any excuses but I'm never done good in school. I don't excel nor do I succeed (although I did make it on the President' list this spring semester)… it's not that I don't try, it's cause I'm lazy and rather work which is all I've been doing… is focusing on work to save up and move out.

My gpa is 3.0 right now and that is low to me, so are there any other things that admission looks for in a transfer besides grades and a high GPA?

UC Berkeley English Transfer Prospect - No time for a lot EC, work full-time: my chances?

Hey. I am hoping to transfer to UC Berkeley in the Fall of 2015 in the College of Letters and Science - Arts and Humanities. I just finished my first year at CC and plan on staying for another 2 years. I plan on completing the maximum units available for transfer for Cal (70) and a few others for UCLA (86). I am incredibly confident about maintaining my 3.9 GPA, but who knows, it may drop to a 3.8.My dilemma is I want to stand out as an English Major through extra curriculars, but I literally have such little free time on my hands. I work two part-time jobs as a Cafe Server at Barnes & Noble and a Sandwich Artist at Subway. These jobs place no emphasis on my place as an English Major (my prospects are Law School after). I merely need the money to get by on costs of living. I usually take 18-20 Units per semester (plus the two jobs) and I'm so exhausted at the end of the day to do anything but sleep. The only thing I can think of that makes me stand out even a little (but not much at all) is my involvement in student newspaper - but is that enough? Will my lack of other EC's reflect poorly on my application? I plan on having at least 50-90 hours of community service in helping end illiteracy or at libraries during the summer, but even that is not many hours. I would like opinions from people who have been accepted into this college/arts and humanities. GPA, EC, jobs, etc? Please, and thank you very much.

Is this a good opening so far?

I'm writing a story about a girl who loves to read.An old woman gives her a collection of books and the characters start to talk to her. She winds up falling in love with one of the characters. (I've already asked a question about this asking for a name by the way). I was just wondering if you thought this was a good opening, and if there is anything I should change. Constructive Criticism is accepted :)

"That was beautiful." Rylin whispered under her breath, tears bubbling in her eyes. She stared down at the last sentence of the novel, it had stricken her heart with full force. She had fallen in love with the two characters love story while she was reading the trilogy of books, the son of a Nazi and a Jewish girl.It had a true Romeo and Juliet ending as well, and like the words that had slipped out of her mouth before, it had been tragically beautiful. She wiped the tears from her cheeks and pulled herself up from her reading nook nestled in the corner of her room between the wall and her window. She blinked quickly, adjusting to the odd sense of vertigo that had washed through her head from getting up too fast. Confusion swept through next, golden light slanted through her window, highlighting her dark wood floors. When she had sat down it was only noon. Rylin hadn't realized she had sat still for that long.
"Ry!" She whipped her head around just in time to see her little brother crash into her. The ten year old looked up at her from his position attached to her waist, a smile that barely showed his three missing teeth spreading across his face. "Dinner's ready!" Erik said, his voice an octave lower than a yell, and dashed off again. She shook her head amusement, her nose catching the smell of dinner for the first time.Mm, She thought, spaghetti!

Rylin twiddled her fork in the noodles, the plate half empty. She once again found herself entranced by the book she had finished, the climax replaying in her mind again and again. She couldn't help but analyze every action of every character. She was so in her thoughts she didn't hear her mom's repeated calls for her until she felt a spoon smack her in the skull. She jumped, her eyes finding her brother's in a glare.
"Rylin, what are you thinking about so deeply?" Her mother asked, her voice a mix of concern and suspicion. She shook her head, glancing back to her noodles. "Rylin?"
"Just a book" Rylin mumbled, knowing not to go into detail. Her parents laughed, the wooden chairs scraping against the floor as they got up. Her father ruffled her dark hair, saying something along the lines of 'get your head out of the clouds' and walked off. Rylin sighed, she knew they would never understand her love of books. Erik pushed himself away from the table, flashing her another smile before he left to undoubtedly play video games. She got up herself, collecting her and her family's plates and stacking them up next to the sink.As she ran the hot water, her thoughts drifted back to the book. She would have to wait until after school tomorrow to get a new one, which meant her only distraction from school itself would be her writing notebooks. She scrunched her mouth up for a second, hoping a sudden blast of writer's block didn't hit her tomorrow.

I recently was offered two different job opportunities and I do not know which one to pick. Help I can't find my cat?

So this morning I woke up and went to feed my cats.As usual, I put their bowls in separate rooms so they don't fight over food. However, my new cat who I've had for a few days (she was my friend's cat but my friend had to get rid of her because her new house couldn't have pets) did not come to get food. I looked all around the house for her, and when I couldn't find her i got worried so I looked in every nook and cranny that she could be in, but she wasn't there. I decided to look outside and I looked everywhere there, but I still couldn't find her!!!

What should I do??? It's been a few hours and I've looked every now and then everywhere and I don't know where she is. Please help, I'm worried

What should I wear to orientation at Barnes & Noble?

For the first interview I wore slacks and a button up, and for the second I wore those same slacks (I only have one pair) and a nice shirt. I'm thinking for orientation either wearing slacks and a nice top (either http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=34611&vid=2&pid=452575002 (but it's a navy blue with small flower) or a black shirt I have with a sequined neckline) or a dress with tights (the dress is plain, with a red top, and black skirt, and it's long enough for school dress code, so I figured it'd be long enough for this). Then I'd wear my black, closed toed kitten heels.

I believed it.My undoing was my method of preaching and the love of the power over others that this ability gave me. Yes, I admit that failing… I made life miserable for some of my flock… not seeing the essential goodness in people. I was always suspicious because of my obsession with evil and this corrupted me.

Red painless bump left labia?

I just shaved my, you know. Completely. I got a wax about a week and a half ago, leaving hair on only the middle portion by the lips. I got home that day & shaved.So of course that hair grew faster. Anyway, I just shaved that area plus the few hairs from where I got waxed, & everywhere else, all the nooks & crannies where there was hair. EVERYWHERE. But I just noticed that there were two small red bumps, on my left lower labia. I have no idea what this might be.It doesn't hurt, it almost seems like an ingrown hair but the hair hasn't grown yet. Idkkk. Please help. I masterbated this morning,. . If that means anything. Also I have been wearing alot of jean shorts lately, irritation? Idk. Help

Why does my dog only eat his dried food off the floor?

My 8yr old terrier has been doing this since birth, he will have a bowl of brand new food but will not touch it or eat unless I dump it on the floor. I also discovered that he will go after old food that is stuck in nook & crannies ( I've dropped the bag a few times Lol ) instead of his food in the bowl. On the other hand my other dog eats out of the bowl by herself. I don't have a problem with this behavior I just find it odd & Iam curious. Thanks in advance!

Should i have had said no?

I was at barnes and nobles and wit my mom and my brother.it was extremely busy and there werent any chairs available. I managed to one chair for my mom first amd after waiting around i managed to snag one for myself. I saw a chair finally available for my brother so i took the chair and brought it to where my mom and i were sitting. This man, who was waitig for chairs too, got really angry and said he was waitig for the chair too and how he had to take medicationsfor his back. Kinda taken back by his outburst i just put down my chair. And he just took it without saying thank you even though i brought the chair. Should i have argued with him or something? What would u guys have done? I was waiting a lot for the chair too.

Are there any tablets that work well with flash?

Looking for first hand info on tablets and how they play adobe flash- on any site. Especially I'm interested in a less expensive tablet- and older ones are ok. I don't want to buy a tablet that plays videos choppy with lag, I can't imagine watching an action movie online like that.
There's not much info on this online- does anybody have one that works? How bout Nook hd and Kindle? Or any of the major tablet brands, motorola, samsung, asus, microsoft.
