Help choosing a major please?

I've been writing poetry since I was 13 and I've always dreamed of doing it for a living (meaning publishing and selling those "collections of poetry" books most people ignore in Barnes and Noble). I know that there isn't a lot of money to be made in that, but there isn't very much happiness in money anyway. I'm not crazy though, I realize that I would need a day job, but I want it to relate as closely as possible. So what are my options in terms of majors (and possibly schools?) and "day jobs" that would actually make me happy?

Why can't people sit down outside in New York?

I've been living in NYC for a while and whenever I sit at the top of stairs (in front of a building not in front of someone's house obviously), when I even stand for more than 30 seconds against an AMC wall or when I sit on a ground at a Barnes and Nobles (which I have done without any problems throughout the country) some security person asks me to leave. (BTW I dress like a student aka jeans and sweater and I am always very presentable just in case you were wondering)?

Pros and cons of pomeranians?

Absolutely love Pom dogs, may be getting one pretty soon. I love them because they are absolutely adorable and fluffy, and extremely friendly. I'm looking for a companion in my dog. I don't care about shedding, and I should be able to keep grooming needs under control. I've heard they bark alot, which may be a problem, as I have cats already, and I don't want them to be spooked by excessive barking.

How to attach 2nd story balcony to side of home?

How to attach 2nd story balcony to side of home?
Added (1). Okay to i want to place a balcony in a little nook, an indent in the exterior of my home. It would be surrounded on 3 sides with wall and the 4th side would be facing the outside. How would I do this? Would I still need to have beams that run from the balcony down to the ground? I feel like 3 walls is pretty good support, but im not sure. And how would I go about attaching this? Thank you

Eraserhead (1977) or House (1977)?

There is a Criterion Collection sale at Barnes and Noble, and I can't decide which one I should pick up. I have seen Eraserhead and I love it, but I don't know if I should get it on Criterion. I have NOT seen House and wonder if it is superior to Eraserhead. Or at least, what it features. Can I please have some help?

Like what's up with my cat?

so, i have a pet cat that just gave birth to 3 healthy kittens 3+weeks ago. She was feeding them and was being a very good mother to her litter of kittens. Then, just 2 days ago, she started to act really strange and she was basically dragging her kittens all over the house, no idea why she was doing so. And then, when my mum went to check up on the cats a while later, all 3 kittens were missing and their mum wasn't even at all concerned to go look for them. She was basically sleeping all day long and it didnt even occur to her to go and feed the kittens. She showed no sign that she was at all concerned that her kittens were missing. We've searched all over the house and the neighbouring houses, but we cant seem to locate the kittens anywhere. Did she do something to her own kittens? Im really worried, the kittens are only 3+weeks old.
Added (1). meow: the mum is an adult stray cat, we decided to take her in as she was pregnant. And we cant keep an eye on her at all times, she must have sneaked out when we weren't looking. We were worried about the kittens, so obviously we searched every nook and cranny- including our neighbours house. Btw, you should direct the last question to yourself.

How to learn to interact with directx and program games?

I have learned to be decent with C++ and would like to learn how to develop games, but the tutorials I find offer up some BS framework or something that doesn t reference graphics at all. I want to learn every necessary command- from bringing the window up to deleting it.

I also don t understand how to work Visual Studio (which I plan to use) and what type of projects to choose for "templates". It doesn t appear to offer just starting from scratch- it insists you use a template.
