What are the best places to work at age 17?
I'm 17 and I need a job to gain some money. I have applied to tons of places such as Publix, Home Depot, Target, and etc. I'm currently trying Barnes & Nobles and Starbucks, but does anyone have anyother suggestions? My baby keeps throwing/dropping his bottles out of his crib?
His crib is up against the wall in a little nook, and we put blankets around three sides to keep the bottles from falling behind the crib, but he still drops them out the front between the bars.Is there something I can block the bars with so that instead of bars, it's one solid piece? Or would I have to actually make something out of wood or whatever? And don't tell me no bottles in the crib. That's not my question, anyway.

Connected, but no internet access?
Alright, my internet connection (wireless) is no longer working for my windows 7 computer.It's an Envy and Beats, but idk if that has anything to do with it. The connection has worked fine in the past all the time. However, while I was away at college I tried to turn my laptop into a wifi hub so I could download ebooks to my Nook. I came back home for the weekend, and now suddenly I can't connect. Personally, I'm wondering if it has anything to do with changing the adapter setting. Any advice?

Why won't my computer recognize my Nook Color?
So, I plugged in my Nook and then a little window popped up and said "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.for assistance in solving this problem, click this message." and i clicked it and it said that Windows doesn't recognize my USB device.

Wasn't home when delivery came?
Hi guys. I ordered a book online at Barnes and Noble for the delivery in 2-7 days. Its been already one week and the book still hadn't come. I tracked the delivery but it said they came but wasn't delivered to the house and the book went to another place. This means that I wasn't home when they delivered it.So what should I do? I recently bought a nook tablet and wanted to purchase a dual-boot micro SD card so i can boot my nook to an android without messing with the internal software and was wondering if there was a difference between the N2A and NFA cards, if anything has used these i would like to know how well they work, the NFA card is about 15 dollars cheaper than the N2A card and if there is no difference i would like to buy the cheaper one for obvious reasons but the fact that its much cheaper makes me think its not as good, i would like to know if theres any differences between these cards

What if your husband came home late 2-3 hours every single night (yes, 7 days per week)?
My husband started a job back late in Nov and says he works every day. Although I don't check up on him, I believe that he does. However, he has never come home directly after work. He is out for at least 2-3hours every night, coming home at midnight. He tells me that he is at Barnes and Noble. Now some Barne and Nobles stay open late however, the B&N in our location closes at 9pm. Also, he rarely answers the phone when I call. He will call back on his way home.So, I asked him where he has been every night.No direct answer.
What do you make of this?
Should I be upset that he chooses to stay out late?
Mind you, we have not time together given his daily work schedule since I go to work early in the morning.

Nook Color book help?
Whenever I connect my Nook Color to a computer I am unable to pull up any of the books that I own. The only things that pull up are all of the folders from "my stuff" then "my files". Under "my files" there are tons of folders, one of which is titled books, but there isn't any thing in there. How can I move two of my books into that file so I can pull it up on the computer? I've tried everything

Are e-book readers worth it over conventional books?
When reading a book I like to have it physically in my hands. I like to see the cover and store it on a bookshelf just as I still like buying dvd movies so I can have the case and store them on my dvd shelf. I haven't bought any digital movies or books for this reason.
Though I can understand that a kindle can hold thousands of books wherever you go, I would still only read one book at a time.
So besides storage capacity, what other reason would there be to switch to an ebook reader?
It is a bit expensive buying books but digital books aren't exactly cheap either.At least not on the android market, over $10 for something that is digital only.
Are there cheaper prices on a kindle? Any subscription programs that are much more affordable than buying a single book?
Any reasons you guys may know please share.
Don't recommend an ipad or any other tablet, my phone is good enough for me I want only an ebook read such as kindle or nook.

Though I can understand that a kindle can hold thousands of books wherever you go, I would still only read one book at a time.
So besides storage capacity, what other reason would there be to switch to an ebook reader?
It is a bit expensive buying books but digital books aren't exactly cheap either.At least not on the android market, over $10 for something that is digital only.
Are there cheaper prices on a kindle? Any subscription programs that are much more affordable than buying a single book?
Any reasons you guys may know please share.
Don't recommend an ipad or any other tablet, my phone is good enough for me I want only an ebook read such as kindle or nook.

Mac vs PC: Build Quality?

Over the past 4 years i've had two laptop pcs that i have bought for the 400-500 pound mark.As im fairly knowledgeable about computers ive been able to keep the OS on them smooth and fluid using defrag and other utiity programs. However the build quality of each laptop has been terrible.on my first acer most of the keboard buttons fell of as well as general debris building up inside the nooks and crannies. On The second HP I had, all the rubber components fell off, the battery died and the charger broke within a year and a half of buying the item.Im considering buying a macbook air for around 900£.My question is will it last me any longer in terms of battery lifecycle, general build quality, and looks?

I have been waiting for this book for some time now.we all know they kept changing the release date. NOW it is suppose to be released oct. 20 of this year. Turns out the "found" ad was nothing but a "friendly hoax" dreamed up by West Hollywood artist Rory Emerald.
"I started putting outrageous "found" ads in papers across the country in 1995," Emerald said. "One of the first ones was in Montana, where I said I had found H. G. Wells' time machine."
Since then, ads have listed the discovery of Michael Jackson's prosthetic nose to Elton John's diary and denim jacket. Emerald took a two-year hiatus from writing fake "found" ads before starting up again last month.

What color should I paint the ceiling?
I am considering refacing my (now white) kitchen cabinets. I would like to paint them an antique white. However I have an open floor plan and all other trim work is bright white.To me antique white trim next to bright white trim is as offensive and wearing brown and black together, or white after labor day.So if i paint the kitchen cabinets I will have to paint all crown moulding, base moulding, mantle, window casings, door casings, doors, wainscotting, and chair rails etc antique white as well.My question is, how will this look next to white ceilings? Should I paint those an ivory color? Also, I have coffering in my nook, should that be antique white as well?

I had a group interview with Barnes and Noble on Wednesday and I *thought* it went great.
I was almost sure they'd give me the job over the other applicants. They said they would call us within the week and let us know, but they never called me.
Does this mean they picked someone else and I should move on?
Or should I call and ask if a decision was made?

I'm 16 and I'm the youngest child left in my family. I live in a house with my 3 older brothers (Their my half brother 2 have the same mom and the other had the same dad so basically im what they call the "little princess") my mom and my father in New York.My brothers smoke weed and they go in the backyard to smoke it and when they come in you can smell it all through out the house.My mom and dad go fed up with that and changes the locks on the door so they cant go out there and smoke anymore. Right now their trying to get them out of the house because their all in their mid-20 and one is almost 30. I'm the little messenger to all of them.My brothers want me to tell them what my mom and dad be saying about them and then my mom and dad get mad because they say I should have never to him. One of my brothers that the closest to me told me something and I asked my mom a question about it but I didnt tell her that he said it. Then the next day I'm talking to him and my dad comes down the stairs and starts yelling at him saying how could he say that to me and all this next ***.So I go yelling at my mother like you know how my dad is already like wtf. Then 2 of my brothers had this big conversation while my mom was upstairs and my dad was at work and the one that has the same mom as me was like he hates my dad so much and if he was getting beat up in the streets he wouldn't even care he was just keep walking and he said my dad is a liar which kind of hurt my feeling and the other one that no related to my mom was like my parents should have never brought them to america and that my parents was trying to kick them out and they not going about it right and so on. And it really got me mad and everyone still asking me questions about everything and now that I'm not telling them all of them want to say I'm picking sides which I'm not because I'm not telling nobody anything anymore. I tried to move in by mr grandma who lives about 5-10 blocks away from us but my other family & my mom and dad was like I cant go because my grandma just retire and she enjoying life now because she done raised all her kids she dont need no more kids to raise and also that she concentrating on my little cousin who has adhd and doesnt listen to people very well. I dont have no one to talk because I dont want to be all over my friends with all my drama.My father is a control freak because he wont let me use face book anymore, I wont have a fone for two more days, my iPod broke because the left side lost sensitivity and my nook is dead because the charger broke and I have no idea when my mom taking me to buy a new one and she gets mad when I use her phone so I cant call nobody. They dont let me go out any more because of people getting raped and shot and because somebody jumped through the train tracks onto the street and died. What should I do?

Which Doctor Who toy should I buy?
I want to get my little brother a birthday present related to Doctor Who. He loves the show and I was thinking of getting him a sonic screwdriver, but there are a lot of options (full size, replica, key chain, flashlight) on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions -- anyone buy a particular kind and like it? I don't have a ton of money to spend but I don't want something that'll break right away either.
He also likes to read, so I was considering one of the Doctor Who books -- anyone know of a good one? Or author I should look for? Again, there are a lot of options.

Is it creepy to offer help to a stranger?
I'm a college student and a cashier at a Walmart in the town and there is this frequent customer who comes in once or twice a week And seems to always come to my register although I have seen him at other people's registers before. Anyways he comes in a lot and I make small talk with him every time ask him how he is what he does for a living and so on And one time he brought up that he works at the University in town and didn't know how to use some things on the computer. He asked if I knew anyone who could help and I told him that I would email an information technician at the community college I go to, But I never heard back from him. The customer was back this evening and I told him that I tried to get a hold of an IT guy but I didn't hear back And said I could help him for free at the local Barnes & Noble store downtown. He said that would be great and gave me his work phone number and now I'm worried that I did the wrong thing.My boyfriend said that this was really creepy of me to do but the guy is in his late 50s so I didn't see him as a harm and just wanted to help. Nook, coursesmart or another app?
I'm a college student looking for a little more convenience when it comes to textbooks. I wanna purchase etextbooks but I need to know if I should purchase a nook (if it even supports textbooks) or if I should use the coursesmart app. I'm also open to any other textbook app suggestions if you guys have any. Being tracked by the FBI?
Let's say you buy a laptop but you don't use it at home. You only use it in public places with free wifi, like McDonald's, Starbucks, Barnes & Nobles, and the Airport. Then before you get home you take out the cell battery and store it away. And you only plug the Cell Battery back in when you're away from your home and are ready to use it. You never connect it to your home network. Would this not make you impossible to track? Seeing as the IP of the laptop would keep changing with the IP of whatever public wifi you're using and would never be connected to your own home wifi. Could the FBI still track you? How?

My first job was at Dunkin' Donuts, and I got fired for something I didn't do after a mere 4 months.
After that, I held 2 paying jobs, but they both were temporary/seasonal. Those 2 jobs didn't know I got fired though.
After a whole year since Dunkin' Donuts, I've yet to get a permanent part-time job. I've applied to Subway, Stop & Shop, 3 Petsmart stores, Burger King, 3 Petco stores, a different Dunkin' Donuts restaurant, Papa Gino's, Whole Foods, a hospital as a cafe cashier, 2 CVS stores, Nordstrom, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Barnes & Nobles, Home Goods, my local bank that I had a connection in, and several others I can't think of.
I was able to get 2 interviews at one Petsmart store but they didn't want me, and an interview at Bed Bath, but they never called me back after the first interview.
Why can't I get a job? Where am I suppose to make money? I have college loans to pay. Please give me some suggestions. I'm 18 years old.
Also keep in mind all of those stores I applied to WERE hiring and still are…

What kind of relationship is he trying to form?
I'm receiving mixed signals from my manager. For example: I'm a cashier. When he has to come to my register to approve a transaction and do other various special manager duties, instead of just leaning over the side like the rest of my managers do, he will actually come into the register nook with me (it's about a 3.5-4 ft.space) to do so. He also has begun sharing a lot of his health issues with me. He'll ask me if I know anything about back aches, or why a certain muscle might be sore, et c. He also sought me out to speak with me about his ADHD medication, and how he was feeling about getting back on it. This might just be him trying to seek advice, but I'm a student, hardly qualified to give it to him, and cannot think of any past incidents that might have given him the idea that I'm the person to go to about this kind of thing. I've also caught him staring at me a few times, and he always seems to be very close to me when we're together (like walking together, or speaking to one another). I'm usually pretty good at telling when someone is attracted to me, and some of these signs would usually signify that he is, but he is also 8 years older than me (I'm 18, he's 26), so I really don't want to jump to conclusions.Am I just paranoid, or might I actually be on to something?

Im hoping to buy a ebook reader next week but im stuck between these two options, kindle or nook. Some people say that kindle cant handle pdf properly and some nonsense about emailing the pdf to get it converted. Best Ereader for a Senior Citizen?
Im looking into getting my grandma an e-reader for christmas. She reads ALOT and she is limited to being able to go out and buy anymore physical books. But I cant get a straight forward review on what would be the best in terms of her sake. Most of them just say its your personal preference, but its not for me.so I cant decide that way. I have played with them all and I just dont know… Im leaning more towards the Nook, because of the little touch screen thing at the bottom seems like it shows large buttons and its easy to learn, and she likes Chess which it has.but She has vision problems, and lives on her own far away from me so she would need something she could learn without much help. What is the best in your opinion in terms of simplicity of course, has the best options or layout for her to be able to see and read the best. And most of all keep in mind she reads alot so it needs to have a decent size store pref.of free books before she starts buying. And has a decent price tag. =)

Can I connect an external hard drive to my Nook Color?
It only has a port for micro-USB, while most external hard drives use a mini-USB. Would it be as simple as using a micro-to-mini cable or adapter?

Permanent dental crown feels rough?
I just got a permanent dental crown today. Within 10 minutes after the procedure I was driving home and a little white piece of something hard floated in my mouth.It seems to be a chipping off the crown molar on top. The whole crown does not look like the mold the dentist showed me before he fit it to my mouth.It lacks the natural look of the "nooks and cranny's," and feels rough all over the top of it.Is this cement that should break off like it did in the car or is this odd and should I go back to check it out?

I got fired from my first job, will I ever get hired?
My first job was at Dunkin' Donuts, and I got fired for something I didn't do after a mere 4 months.
After that, I held 2 paying jobs, but they both were temporary/seasonal. Those 2 jobs didn't know I got fired though upon hiring.
After a whole year since Dunkin' Donuts, I've yet to get a permanent part-time job. I've applied to Subway, Stop & Shop, 3 Petsmart stores, Burger King, 3 Petco stores, a different Dunkin' Donuts restaurant, Papa Gino's, Whole Foods, 2 CVS stores, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Barnes & Nobles, Home Goods, my local bank that I had a connection in, and several others I can't think of.

Calling up and asking an employer if they drug test?
Will they be honest with you?
For example: I had an interview at Barnes and Noble the other day, and it went great. They didn't mention anything about a drug test at the interview or on the application.
I had someone of the opposite sex call anonymously and ask them whether or not they require drug testing upon hiring, as well as other questions like that, and they kindly said No, they do not drug test.
Should I trust this to be true?

Drugs are bad, I stay away from anything more than weed. Including alcohol and cigarettes.

Kindle Paperwhite vs Nook Glowlight?
I have been waiting to get an ereader for awhile now because I wanted the e-ink capabilities but i also wanted the built in light.personally I couldn't care less about eye-strain but the main thing I read are pdfs. I want to know which has the best pdf support.mostly I use this for text documents that I can reformat the pdfs to have bigger text to read but again, which has the best support?
Also I'm curious about the browser on the Kindle Paperwhite.is it an actual browser for websites or is it like a browser/bookstore? For example, could I go on Facebook if I wanted to (thats not what I'm going to use it for though)

Why is my Nook Color's battery life so poor?
When I first got my Nook Color (back in January), the battery life was amazing. I could play around on it and read all day long and still have enough life on it to do some more the next day. I haven't used it much since the early summer as I'd read all the books I had on it, but I recently subscribed to Reader's Digest on there and bought a couple of new books to read on a very long car ride yesterday. The battery was completely dead when I checked on it (after having bought the magazine and books earlier that day with 100% charge), and I wouldn't have had time to charge it in the morning so I left it plugged in overnight (this isn't something I normally do because I've heard it can damage the battery life).In the morning, the battery said 100% charged when I unplugged it. I locked it and didn't use it at all during the day until I was on the car ride back. I unlocked it and tried to open the Reader's Digest issue and it immediately shut off because the battery was dead. Why has the battery life deteriorated so suddenly? Is it something I'm doing wrong? Should I take it into a Barnes and Noble to get their opinion?
Also, within the first week of owning this Nook, my charger would not work at all after only one use. I took it in and they replaced it for free. I doubt that this has any correlation considering the new charger seems fine, just a poor battery life in the Nook, but I just thought I'd add this.At least I know they have friendly service!

I deleted my Barnes and Noble account and?
Okay, so I registered my nook color with Account A. I deleted Account A & created Account B, but forgot all about Account A. I could still buy books from my nook (Explanation please?) and I tried go on Account A (I found out that it was deleted >.<) Then I stupidly unregistered and erased my device to register it with Account B. All my books are on Account A though.
So I'm wondering if all hope is lost for my books or is there a possibility to get them back.
Long story short:
I created an account.
Registered nook color with it.
Deleted account.
Created another account.
Erased my device.
Registered nook color with my other account.
All my books are gone?

Having problems with Barnes and Noble shipment.?
I ordered a book about 2 weeks ago and I got an email saying it shipped last Monday. The tracking number they gave me does not work though! It said they shipped through "canada post/broker's worldwide" ( I live in Canada), but Canada post tracking says it's an invalid number, and broker's worldwide does not have a tracking section on their website. I tried USPS, FEDEX, and just about every other site I could think of, and the tracking number doesn't work for any of them!
What should I do? I can't go ask in person to the store since there is no B&N in my city…

How to Factory Reset an N2A card without erasing android?
When I got my N2A card I didn't follow the Addendum instructions because I didn't find them until I finished downloading my first app. Well now that app still doesn't work and now the android freezes and shuts its self off.So how do I Factory Reset it. If you check " Erase SD card " it will erase android of the card.So I wont choose that. But if I still reset it without checking anything will it erase the data off the Nook OS. I tried chosing Recovery mode in the reboot menu, and when android loaded back up it was exactly the same! What should I do!!!

I lost my receipt from barnes and noble, can i get a copy of it?
I had a book assignment this summer, and I had to purchase a book, and if I do, I get 40 assignment points. I bought it from Barnes and Noble in June, but I lost the receipt, and I have to turn it in the first day of school to get my points. I was wondering if there was a way I could get a copy of the receipt.

I know it's from the UK, but I heard they sold it in the USA some place. I've looked in Barnes and Noble, but it's not there. :( I want the newest issue so badly, because BVB is in it!
