Anyone read T A Barron's Merlin Saga?

I was searching Nook books last night and came across these books. I'm an avid lover of anything to do with the Arthurian legends. Are these books worth the price to read? It seems that they are YA books; is that correct? I usually don't read YA, but there are a few I have enjoyed such as the Inheritance Cycle. I'm intrigued by the Merlin Saga, but $6.99 per book will add up quickly if I read them all, and is more than I usually pay. I've read the legends spanning from Sir Thomas Mallory, to Mary Stewart, to Stephen R. Lawhead and Marion Zimmer Bradly. Does Barron offer anything fresh or new?

Navy Hospital Corpsman help?

Hello everyone, I just recently signed a contract at MEPS the other day for Hospital Corpsman. I am very nervous about the job because I don't know what it will be like, what type of work I will be doing, or how hard A school will be. I was a C- student average in High School at most and I don't consider myself very smart.As for now I am in DEP until I get shipped off September. While I still have time I want to try to gain some insight and knowledge about some of the medical stuff I am required to learn. Does anyone have any recommendations on what books I should buy to get some studying at the mean time? I was thinking about getting about going to Barnes & Noble and getting some books to study. How to connect with other writers?

As someone who wants to make a career out of writing in a very non-creative town, I feel somewhat isolated and as though I have to suppress my dreams instead of sharing them with others, who will usually scoff at my "unlikely career choice." Everyone around me is super boring and wants to be a business major, or an engineer or something in the medical field or a mechanic, you know? They want to go with safe life choices.

I don't mean to discriminate, but when I go to Barnes and Noble or the library, the people aren't of my age, and older authors have a lot of good advice, but for just someone I want to be friends with and share my time with they don't really fit.

Which electronic book reader thing should I get?

I'm a teenage girl who likes to read. I read, like, an hour a day. I can't sleep without reading before *I do have a social life though*. I've been able to read since age two, and I read really fast. Faster than both my mom and english teacher. Anyway, since I go through a book a day, and read all the young adult books in the library, its getting annoying to keep driving one hour to the nearest bookstore.So I'm thinking about getting an electronic book reader? My mom has a nook. I want one that's relativly cheap, and that looks like a book. Reading off like an ipod or phone or computer screen makes me dizzy after a while. What type do you reccomend?

32GB Micro SD card only showing 512kb capacity?

I recently purchased a 32GB Micro SD card for my nook tablet. When I inserted the card to the PC to load it with data, the PC asked me to format the drive. When the format come up, the Capactiy wont let me set it to anything other than 512KB. I can bump the allocation up to 64 kb.Im using the Fat default partition.Is my SD card mislabeled or shot? What am I missing.

How to remodel tile shower?

I am completely redoing my shower.It was a terrible job originally, and there has been years of water damage. I just finished completely demo-ing everything. I have a contractor coming soon to re-frame the shower area (the studs and sill plate were rotted out). I bought an acrylic Swanstone shower base that i will be using that fits right into the shower nook.So… lets say I have the shower base installed and hooked up to the drain… everything else is unfinished (bare studs and all).

suggestions on what to do next to waterproof before i tile the walls? I have heard, read, and watched many different methods. Right now I am thinking I will line the studs with vapor barrier, put concrete board on walls (rather than green board or drywall), mortar the seams, and start tiling. Would that be the correct method, or are there better waterproofing methods? thanks a lot.

How to get rid of Silverfish naturally?

I am trying to find a way to end my fight with Silverfish the natural way. I have read about every site on the net and tried numerous suggestions. I had to break down and call Orkin. Well, a thousand dollars later I still have Silverfish.

I know more about Silverfish than I ever wanted to know. I know they are nocturnal and love the dark, moist and humid areas. I know their mating habits. I know everything except for how to get rid of them permanently and naturally.It is nearly impossible to seal off every nook and cranny in a home. I have tried though.

Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Wondering if my Betta may be sick?

I bought a betta on Friday and he seemed very happy. He likes to swim but also hang out towards the bottom. I was going to bed today and saw he made a little nook in the gravel in the bottom of the aquarium. ( the aquarium has a little dip in it to put gravel). He is in between gravel and the glass. I just want to know if I should be worried he is sick? This is my 1st fish.

Oh, he looks fine and no appetite change. I also treated the water he is in right now. He gets flake food once a day and there is no heater on the tank.

Which 2nd Date to Plan?

The first date (an afternoon hike this past Saturday) was successful. A second date was already in the works.In a follow-up text I asked her to give me her available times so we can get together again (we both work and are in school, so of course I'm going to ask for her availability in order to find a time that works for both of us -- young 20's). She ended up giving me anytime this Wednesday or after 8:30pm Saturday. I'm not sure where I should go from here…

I work during the weekdays, getting home by 3:30. Because I usually hit the rock gym after work, I was thinking of inviting her climbing with me on Wednesday. We're both athletic and she has done it before. Or, I was thinking of teaching her how to 4-wheel the Jeep on GM's testing grounds and then relaxing at the park next to it, after, so we can have some time to talk and really come out of our shells.

If I were to decide Saturday for us, I would like to either grab a spot in Barnes & Noble, take a puzzle/riddle book from the shelves and figure the problems out with her; or take her on a calm dirt trail to see the stars (but it's a full moon so no stars); or teach her some night photography around town (but she's a hostess, so I'm not sure if she really wants to be on her feet).

Anyway, which idea do you all think is best? Or do you have any better ideas (not sex just yet).

How to organize my desk space?

Kindle Fire HD vs Nook HD? - 1

So basically, I have a Nook Color from almost two years ago, and it's starting to get really slow and annoying, and so I want to either buy the Kindle Fire HD or the Nook HD. I have quite a few books from my Nook, but a lot of them I got for really cheap or free. I was just wondering if you think it would be worth it to get the Kindle instead of the Nook, or should I just get the Nook?
The reason I ask is because the Kindle just seems like a much nicer device than the Nook, so yeah.
