Please c/c my prose/short story?

My experiences at parties usually goes something like this;
I walk in, not knowing who to talk to, feeling vulnerable and unwelcome. I look around; my senses become overbearing. The green couch seems too bright, the voices too loud, my palms too sweaty. And when no chance for meaningless small talk presents itself, I find a semi-empty nook, hoping a like minded individual would join me. But no prospects appear. That girl with the long blonde hair talking about her drunken weekend, the hockey guy screaming about his many relations with women, the conversations seem to all blur together into one meaningless dialogue. But then I began to notice little things. Maybe it's the way she keeps twirling her hair nervously, or the way he keeps smiling, like a little kid who just saw his first firework show. I begin to stand back and really observe people, sucked into a daze of utter fascination. I melt right into the room, eventually disappearing altogether. I use it to my advantage.At first, I tiptoe along their shadows. If I stay there long enough, they don't seem to notice me slipping beneath their skin, clinging onto the tips of their fingers, their eye lids, the lint on their clothing. I love to slide along the little moons of their cuticles, and go for a ride as they gesture enthusiastically. I love to place myself in between the spaces of their teeth and just lye there;listening to them speak, feeling the vibration of their unique voice, inhaling the scent of alcohol on their breath. But my favorite is when I crawl just beneath the collar of their shirts, where I can feel the fluctuating rhythm of their chests, the warmth of their bodies. I can always tell what mood they're in. Their humour, becomes my humour. Their anxiety, mine. And I just watch and listen, smiling to myself. But once i'm brought back into reality by an obnoxious comment, or a stupid joke, I realize I would never want to talk to them, nor do we have anything in common. And when I get up to leave, I wonder if it's normal for someone to like people objectively, yet dislike them at the same time, and how it's possible to become intimate with complete strangers, on a weird plane of existence that doesn't even exist.

I want to get my mom an ereader for christmas… i have been looking at the nook, barnes and noble, kindle fires…

what i would ideally want her to have is something she can download books (obviously) maybe magazines, be able to go online for our local newspaper and be able to check her email when traveling…

she doesnt need a tablet, she is NOT computer smart like i am, haha so simple the better but with those options!!!

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on Nook Tablet?

Is there a way to root my tablet and put jelly bean on it?
This will be my first time rooting a device, so any page to show how to or video would be cool.

Where to find good manga?

I have recently gotten into reading manga and have decided to purchase some. I've bought some off of amazon and although they are cheap (about $10 all together with shipping) that would still come out to be around $140 for a 14 volume set, which is too much for a kid in college without a job. Nook Simple Touch frozen on sleep screen?

I accidentally dropped my Nook today (in its case) and since then it has been frozen on the sleep screen - when I plug it in it recognizes it and allows me to go into the files, but it will not turn on or reset.

How's MW2 on the hacking front?

I played the game religiously when it first came out and eventually dropped it. I recently picked it back up (on Barnes & Noble.com believe it or not) and am wondering if it is still "Overrun" with hackers (Specifically on Xbox 360). I've been reading about some patches released not too long ago and am hoping that they fixed some of the more prevalent problems (Infections, 10th lobby ***, wall-hacks, stuff like that)

What to wear at an orientation for a new job?

I recently got a job at Barnes and Noble, and today is my orientation.
For the interview, I dressed very nicely. Dressy shirt, black pants and nice shoes.
Today I am wearing a knit grey sweater and very dark purple skinny jeans and moccasins.
Do you think this would be appropriate to wear? Or should I dress fancier?

Where can I find a large but very cheap bookshelf?

For my room. Since I read and own LOTS of books I have always put new ones I get in different nooks and crannies in my room, only for my mom to look at me oddly for getting something we have no room for.

I've asked her if we could get a bookshelf--to keep my books in--but we haven't yet.

Am I allowed to have the book The Anarchist Cookbook?

I have read parts of it online, although I did so while using a proxy (yeah I'm a bit paranoid). I want to just buy the book for myself (I see it's on Amazon and Barnes and Noble), but would doing so put me on some kind of government watchlist? Would having this book in my possession make police suspicious of me if they found out? etc.

Bed bug bites, but no trace of bugs?

I've got three bites on my back that seem to match up almost exactly with a number of bed bug bite pictures I've seen. They're even all in the same area (as bed bug bites tend to be.)

But, I've found no signs of bed bugs anywhere on my bed.No blood 'spatters,' no dead or living bugs in my sheets/mattress -- yes, I flipped it over and checked all nooks and crannies -- nothing that appears to be bed bug fecal matter or any sickly-sweet aroma (though I do tend to keep my window open all day.)

Is it possible that I still have bed bugs? Could it be something else that simply looks awfully similar to bed bugs? They're bright red and incredibly swollen -- but not very raised? A bit as if there's a hard ball just underneath the skin. They're also very warm to the touch.

Help? I'm becoming increasingly paranoid about going to bed tonight.

Recover micro sd card (nook color honeycomb attempt)?

I have tried to put a honeycomb boot through my micro sd card on my nook color, but after I burn the honeycomb's image into my sd card my computer showed that my micro sd card (which has a 8gb capacity) had a 117 mb capacity. Accidentally formatted my 8 GB card to 38 MB?

I wanted to format my SD Card to get everything off it, having used it to root my Nook Color. But when I'd formatted it, I didn't realize that it was only giving me the option to have it only have 38 MB.Is there anyway to return it to its proper state? I just got this card yesterday.

Hi.Im a college student and i noticed that there is a nook study that i can download.It also says that there is a 7-day free trial on this text book that i have to read. If i download it, will it show the complete text?

I went to another website… coursesmart or something and it had a free trial, but it only showed half of the page and said buy the book to view the rest.

Why does my room stink now matter what?

My room is the only room in the house that smells funny (it smells like a strange mixture of rotting eggs and a decaying animal carcass). I've cleaned my room multiple times, washed the carpet and scrubbed the walls, changed my bed clothes and changed my mattress, I don't keep dirty clothes in my room and I bathe everyday. I washed the windows and looked in every nook and cranny in my room to find the source of the smell. I checked the vent too and no smell is coming from it. Air fresheners work for a while but the smell always comes back. What is causing this stench and what can I do to get rid of it?

So I transferred pictures from my laptop to my nook and after that it started acting weird. Such as, it took 7 hours to fully charge instead of 3. Pain in antecubital space when using thumb?

I had a little nap and when i woke up I went out for a cigarette(unhealthy, i know) and realized that I could not operate my lighter properly because of pain in the antecubital space(nook of the elbow[other side of elbow]) when using my thumb to press on my lighter.It doesn't seem to severe to me, but I tend to have a high pain tolerance, so I was wondering if this was something that I should actually be worried about. IPad mini vs Nook HD+ vs Kindle Fire HD vs Nexus 7 vs Windows 8 tablets?

This is of course theoretical since the ipad mini has not been announced, and windows 8 tablets are not out yet, but which would you probably get if you had to choose? I'm really interested in Windows 8 on tablets, but I havnt found any windows 8 tablets/computers below around $600. I would love to get a windows 8 tablet for around $300. The iPad mini and Kindle fire tie for 2nd for me. Anybody else thinking about getting a tablet this year?

I was reading the first chapter at Barnes and Noble… is it worth buying? It was interesting… but is it good enough to buy?

High quality and expensive diaries and journals?

When I say expensive and high quality, I don't mean like Moleskin ones or the ones that you get from Barnes and Noble. I'm talking about the ones from like Switzerland where people would think you're crazy for spending that much money on them. The diary/journal has to be lined though.

My kindle is broken so I want a new tablet. I wont buy another Kindle because they are made in China.Is the Nook tablet also made in China?
Added (1). I am not racist. I just do not want to support their economy and Asian countries are known for producing poor quality products. I've said nothing derogatory about Asian people.

I purchased a Nook Color and in order for me to sign up with an account its requesting a wirless password and I have no idea what that is. How can I find that out? would I have had to make one up or was it created by netgear? Pleeeease help.

Which book by Bruce Lee has an analysis of the martial arts he studied?

I came across this book in Barnes & Nobles years before I really got into Martial Arts.It had descriptions on each individual "style", saying how Boxing only punches but has excellent live reflex conditioning, or how Judo has excellent throwing technique but seems to lack in striking. Now that I practice often, I could really use that book because I remember he analyzed a LOT of styles, from a LOT of places around the world. I've been looking for that book for 3 years. Does ANYONE know what the title is???
