I have jury duty coming up for a grand jury in lower Manhattan.

Can I bring my Nook (a Barnes & Noble e-reader, like a Kindle), at least for the first day?

How to value and sell hundreds of antiques?

I am in a somewhat unique situation. My wife's grandparents own a very old farmhouse (1890) and we are exploring the option of them gifting it to us in exchange for arranging the sale of the antiques inside as a sort of purchase price.

The thing is, there are TONS of old things inside. The place is akin to some of he properties you see on the show "pickers". There of course is plenty of old junk, but there are also hidden gems (a cavalry saddle from World War One for instance). I have no knowledge of antiques and really have no way of determining what is worth some thing and what is not. It will take weeks just organizing stuff and getting stuff out of nooks and crannies, let alone selling it all.

I'm kinda looking for any advice on how we might handle this situation. How do I determine what is valuable? How do I pick a good price? How do I sell (eBay?). Are there companies like the pickers show that will comb through stuff and by it on the spot? Thing is, we want a lot more bought than just 1 to 3 items like they usually do.

Any advice on how we might strategize this process would be most helpful!

Do cops fix up your house after they search it?

In movies and tv shows cops have search warrants, and they mess up the house( throw books off bookshelves,go through every nook and crannie, and it's to the point like they don't care cuz they probably aren't cleaning it up). So do cops clean the house up after a search warrant.

Professionally Clean The Rug or Rip It Up?

So We had a flood in our basement where their is installed carpet throughout. About half the rug is ripped up from our last flood. Their are a lot of nooks and crannies where the rug goes. Anyways my parents tell me their going to rip the rug up this sumer. Flash forward 3 months later the rug is still their. What looks like black mold is growing up the wall and it stinks.
Their know deciding just to buy a rug steamer. They said its impossible that mold could be their because mold can't grow on concrete. It is a concrete floor I forget to add. I'm just worried know that their playing off the problem. Should the rug be ripped up. The reason they want to keep it is we can't get new rugs installed now and they told me they at least want some rug down their. Is their a mixture I could pour on it to kill the mold underneath. Chlorine? Anything if their even is any. Thanks!

Indoor Cosmos seeds not sprouting?

I planted some Cosmos seeds in a pot in organic soil over a week ago. I soaked the soil and let it drain through the bottom of the pot (self watering pot, drained the overflow) I put the seeds not even half an inch under the soil. I haven't needed to water since because the soil is still very moist. It is sitting in my window sill that gets several hours of evening sun. A few days ago I gently pushed the soil around and not a bit of green was to be seen. I repotted my shamrock at the same time and it is doing very well. I know they aren't the same plant, but what am I doing wrong? I planted some primrose seeds a while ago but they never sprouted either. I figured that was because they were from a little kit from Barnes and Noble lol.

Which H.P lovecraft book version is better?

I was wondering which version I should buy. I found two at Barnes & Noble:
Great horror tales and The complete fiction. The first being sort of beige with red with the image of the creature he wrote about and the other is slightly thicker, sort of blue and black with an image of what seems to be the universe. The second was is more expensive and the outside seems much better, but I still ask… Which one do I get and why?

Good first time rabbit care books?

I am buying a holland lop and its my first rabbit ever, i am really good with animals because i raised 2 baby chicks in separate times and their both chickens now and i also had a gold fish that lived for a year until another fish in the tank ate her, now i'm moving up to a more difficult pet and i love rabbits so much so can you please mention good and thorough rabbit care books i can buy on amazon or any book store in america like barnes and nobles etc i would love to offer the full and perfect care for my rabbit and the cage and hay is fully ready for the rabbit but i want to read a whole book about rabbit care before i get one thanks!

How to download eBooks from the library onto my nook?

I have the nook tablet

I downloaded the overdrive app and borrowed a book, but I cannot get to it easily. In the app I have to go to Get Books, the library I use, then search for the book, and open it from the library website. I cant figure out how to add the book to my Downloads list on the overdrive app

So Im starting to read and im actually enjoying it right now im ready Twisted by Laurie Halsey Anderson and its really good i never liked reading like i would start reading books and never finished them im going to be a 10 grader in September so any good books i should buy im planning on going to Barnes & Noble with my friend soon

Home made moth killer spray?

I have carpet/clothes moths. They have been around for a couple of years and sometimes I have been quite effective in diminishing their numbers. I use the sticky male traps and that helps a lot. They are little buggers to eradicate entirely. I want to spray around certain areas and behind places and nooks and crannies etc

I was wondering if anyone knew a recipe for a home made concoction? There are no pets or kids in the house and I am not too fussed about the smell although maybe something I could add essential oils too to help out there?

I know you can get 'stuff' online too spray but we really like the idea of making our own as and when needed. It can be organic or non organic or a mixture of both.It would be good to be able to knock something up that kills the larvae and even the eggs and stays around for a good couple of weeks before re applying.

If not something that kills them outright then something that they really really hate that could be sprayed in the hard to reach areas to drive the critters to places that are easier to monitor/control would be a good secondary solution:)

Any ideas? Or any experience in such matters would be most welcome.

Why are there so many books on JFK's assassination?

At the Barnes and Noble closest to my house about 40% of the books on American history were on JFK and his assassination.

Why so many? I understand it is the 50th anniversary but that was in November.

Do the Beats by Dre Studio headphones offer decent noise canceling?

I have been researching a lot on over the ear headphones. Beats by Dre seem to be of popular quality, but a lot of people have said that their noise canceling quality isn't as good as others. I searched through a few other selections, but they were all ugly as sin. I'm not just all about looks, but jeez there are some ugly headphones out there… The main noise I'm trying to cancel is just very simple stuff, like kids stomping around in my apartment complex, my neighbor partying, and my boyfriend having a little too much fun playing PC games with friends. I would also occasionally like to put them on to study in public so I can tune everyone out at relatively quiet places like the library and Barnes and Noble. What eReader is best?

I am looking for anaffordable eReader to take on holidays. I read books on my tablet using the Kindle app but I plan on going to the beach and do not want to risk bringing it. I'm looking for a basic standard eReader; it does not have to have a backlight. However I would like to get an eReader where the books are reasonable; I find Kobo can be more expensive than Kindle. I have been looking at the Nook, but I'm not sure if I can use it as I am not living in the US and I'm not sure if the books are reasonably priced. Any ideas?

My nook just says read forever?

I haven't used my nook color in awhile. I went to turn it on and it just says read forever. I tried pressing the power key and n key at the same time but it just reverts back to read forever.

How to uninstall Cyanogenmod from nook color?

My boyfriend decided to give me his old nook color and we've been trying to set it back to it's original settings but can't seem to find out how to uninstall this Cyanogenmod thing. We don't have a microsd card, or an adapter. I've been googling all day and can only find how to INSTALL it instead of UNINSTALL. If anyone can help asap that would be so great.
