What is your opinion on literature?

I have been noticing lately at Barnes and Noble, that classic literature is slipping. Stories such as Gone With the Wind, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Robin Hood are slowly moving off the shelves and is being replaced by vampire stories and books about preteens.Do teenagers not read classics anymore? I'm 13 and love books such as The Outsiders and Charles Dickens. And do you think that literature is slowly dying?

Alright theres this guy I know.oh my god. This guy is just so mediocre

he's a 21 year old guy going to *** Fullsail University in Orlando, this guys job is web designer.
Yeh, I know, What you're thinking!

He also thinks he knows Everything, I hate that, He watches the Big bang theory on CBS (which is a funny show) But he discovered about Schrodinger's Cat on that show, and now he says it like he's a *** genius.
and he reads all these crappy young adult books you see in Barnes and Noble and books like Eragon and all these other ones.
He literally makes himself sound like an aristocrat, i read books that are a lot better then his crappy collection of repulsive novels which are targeted for 9th graders.

Oh my god, Its ridiculous, OH! and he's a gamer, He just spends so much money on Xbox stuff, I tell him, "Tyler, quit devoting your life to your videogames, Its getting you nowhere"
I like his appreciation for the Arts, but his tastes are usually amateur and he has no real perception.

Trying to apply for a job for the first time-difference between bookseller and receiver?

I'm trying to apply for a job at Barnes and Noble to work for the summer. Now, I've never even applied for a job before, let alone actually work, so I'm a little confused.
It gives me the option for selecting either Employee, Full-time, or Part-time, but I'm not sure which one to select. I'm interested in working five days a week for about six hours, so I suppose that would be full-time, but then what does the option of employee mean? I've figured that I should pick Employee, but I'm just curious-why is that a separate option?

When I select Full-time, I get the options Assistant Store Manager or Lead Bookseller, which isn't exactly what I'm looking for.
When I select Employee, I get the options Bookseller or Receiver.
When I select Part-time, I get Bookseller again.

I'll be selecting employee, but what's the difference between bookseller and receiver? Is receiver pretty much a cashier?

How to help my dog go to sleep without me?

I adopted a senior pug 1½ years ago. He was abused and malnourished when I adopted him, weighing only 10½ lbs (he's now happy and a nice fluffy 17 lbs:) Well, we literally became attached to each other from the moment we met. He is quiet, peaceful, and loves me to pieces. He also loves my husband, but he follow me around - not my husband.
I have severe insomnia and sometimes I don't actually go to bed.My dog (his name is Frog, btw) will not go to sleep if I am not in bed with him. When he does sleep, he sleeps VERY close to me - sometimes he actually sleeps IN my arms like a child would… on his side, facing me, with his head in the nook of my arm/shoulder. If I'm not lying in bed, he will stay wide awake. He doesn't like to play. He has asthma, so he can't run without choking and having trouble breathing. His previous owners (obviously) did not take care of him *at ALL* b/c it's taken me quite a long time to even get him to walk with a full-bodied harness and leash. He stays close at all times when he goes outside to use the bathroom - except when he poops - he RUNS - and i have to grab him and carry him to inside so he doesn't run too far.
SO - exercise is pretty much out of the question. I walk him as much as possible, but his bones and joints are bad (he's approx. 12 y/o or so, per the vet), doesn't like to play with toys, and of course I will NOT be a horrible pet owner and take the lazy (and DANGEROUS) way out by giving him human medicine to make him sleepy. I need a healthy remedy to help my poor dog sleep - I don't want him to suffer just because I do. I love my dog and I want what is best for him. Yes, he sleeps through the day, of course, but I know he wants to sleep at night, too, but only with me next to him. I worry about this. Please, if you have some GOOD advice, I would appreciate you sharing your wealth of knowledge :)

Naruto Roleplay Partner?

I love roleplaying. I do it almost every day! I am kinda looking for someone (Male or Female) to be sort of a roleplay partner for me.It is strictly online with some occasional phone calls. I am up for any type of plot, but I am picky about which characters are involved.

I tend to use my own few custom characters since I dislike many of the females in the show. I want someone who can accurately portray the specified character: mostly because I use the material for my fanfictions that I write. This seriously is not a joke. I'm under the age of 18, so PLEASE.no *** freaks okay?

Things will start out by email and progress from there. I have a lot of experience doing roleplays online on sites like IMVU, so I know how to avoid godmoding whenever possible. I expect the same from you. This is not a last resort for me, I do have a few other options I can go to if this doesn't work out (Just to clarify). I am mostly browsing the web on my nook, so that is why I do not go on to IMVU as much as I used to.

Characters I am extremely interested in: Uchiha Sasuke, Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Madara, Uchiha Izuna, Uchiha Shisui, Orochimaru, Hatake Kakashi, Nara Shikamaru, Sarutobi Asuma, Umino Iruka, Everyone in the Akatsuki including Konan in rare occasions, Kankuro, Temari, Naruto, Zabuza, Haku.

All other characters are more than welcome with a few exceptions, but these are just some of the preferred ones. I will provide information about my custom characters when contact is received.

French doors in a breakfast nook leading out to backyard?

So my folks recently moved into a new house. One of the first things they decided to upgrade was some of the windows since they were very old. While looking through the options, my father also decided to fix up the sliding doors which lead from the breakfast nook area to the backyard deck.

Is this a good idea? I've just never seen anything like it and am worried that when they try to sell the house later on, this french door will turn people off.

So today i walked in a barnes and noble bookstore with a backpack on.i got a book and ripped out the back sheet that had the alarm censor sticker attached to it.

i was about to put it in my backpack, but i got worried that the alarm would go off.

Barnes and Noble help? - 2

So Barnes and Noble is starting to become a pain in the *** and I need help before I explode.

My dad sent me an e-book gift. I couldn't claim it unless I had a credit card. OKAY so I redeemed it into an e-book gift card and I STILL NEED A CREDIT CARD. I don't have one! Unless I can use a prepaid one? I have the $10 credit for the book but it asks me for a credit card just in case there's any other charges. And my mom is afraid that somebody will steal her identity if she uses her credit card online, so she's no help either.

What can I do? I'm pretty much fed up already.

Is my baby gonna get RSV?

I watched my 7 month old nephew today for a few hours. I also have an 11 month old of my own.

He seemed fine, but when my sister in law came to pick my nephew up she nonchalany.admitted to him being in the hospital march 5th for rsv.

That was not even a full two weeks ago.

At one point my daughter stole hid nook n put it in her mouth.

I have been beside myself all night thinking my babyis gonna get sick. We are supposed to be traveling to fl ($1200 in flight fare for this family) to see my very elderly grandmother and celebrate my baby's 1st birthday with family.

I fear all plans are ruined now.

Uhmmm… I'm supposed to take her to the doc? What the f would that do? She's.not sick. Read the damn question or don't freakin answer it

Would you c/c my poem Aranahan?

In my story the characters encounter a vast desert… this is the tale of that land. Please be honest in your critique.

When stars shone bright upon the land
there stood a city in the sand,
Aranahan, pale as the moon,
her silver flags in breeze did swoon.

The ivory walls carved by the wind
to heaven's summit did ascend;
a jewel upon the desert's crown
far under earth descended down.

Her towers mirrored the dunes and sky;
ablaze they were when eve drew nigh,
the setting sun through diamonds broke,
shinning like celestial cloak.

Great mirth rang free from every hall
and song poured down from towers tall,
Aranahan, the city fair,
perpetual, glistened in the air.

Her name was known from shore to shore,
recalled of in the ancient lore,
her name, a marvel on the earth
was whispered of above cold hearth.

Treasure she was to mortal eye,
a gemstone fallen from the sky,
ethereal song rang within
her curling stair and sprawling bend.

And deeper down lie shelves of books,
piled in mountains, crammed in nooks,
a sea of knowledge for the mind
below the desert once did wind.

Prosperity her land once saw,
for still unknown, her fatal flaw,
kept open gates to mortal spawn,
so waned the hours of the dawn.

The kings of men held high their heads
despite their shoulders weighed with dreads,
they sought the castle of the dune,
a dark shape in the dying moon.

Their griefs they placed before the Queen,
diversions for their evil mean,
while the kings' eyes begged for pity,
lusted they the crystal city.

Their hearts felt no more than a jewel,
they thought the Queen a gold-crowned fool,

they robbed the treasure of the skies.

Upon their stolen steads they fled,

Aranahan watched from afar,

Each king put on a wicked grin,
confident in their corrupt sin,
but as they left dust in their wake
the ground beneath began to quake.

The sand dunes shifted brought to life,
grains hissing like wheat field to scythe,
a chasm opened to the void,
the kings were swallowed and destroyed.

The land bore no scar of their deaths,
the sands sealed with their final breaths,
Aranahan, the city fair,
perpetual, rose unto the air.

A flame of silver light she left,
sorrowing in the three kings' theft,
a diamond lit in darkling sky
let lose her other-worldly sigh.

Alas her light was beyond reach,
her presence mortals did beseech,
but soon her name did pass away
and fade unto archaic day.

Only the sands recall her name
and lament at her fading fame,
Aranahan, amongst the stars,
if only she still could be ours.

I need a home network?

Ok, here's the deal: I Originally installed a cable modem and a wireless router upstairs on an Xp computer. I was downstairs with a built-in adapter on my computer. That was several years ago and now we have laptops and tablets in the house and they all share the connection just fine. I now have two computers at my workstation downstairs and would like to share files between them. I get tired of plugging in a usb drive to one, writing to it, unplugging it an plugging it into the other computer and opening the file. If I had a network I wouldn't have to do that. The computer that the modem and router were originally installed on is not even used anymore and is turned off. The various computers and tablets in use use various OS. Android and Nook for the tablets. Win Xp, Vista and 7 for the computers. Can someone take me by the hand and show me what I need to do? I would like my Win 7 Ultimate machine to be the server, since that is the most powerful.
Added (1). >>>>Creating a network to transfer files is actually not necessary. You can just use a file sharing service to transfer your files from machine to machine. If both machines run a windows os then there is a file sharing service already available to you.
You could also look into using a web based storage area where you would have access to your files from any device anywhere.<<<<<

Ok but that is still the same thing I have to upload to the server and then download to my other computer. I have several domains so I have plenty of cloud space. BUT:

Visa debit card won't work online?

I got a visa debit card from TD Bank and I've been using it as a visa online. I bought books from barnes and noble online using the visa option and it worked. Now, I try to use it and it says it's invalid. The bank says I have $100 to spend but I've only spent $30 online. Why isn't it working anymore?

Should I buy a Nook HD or Ipad Mini?

I want to buy an ereader and I've narrowed it down to a Nook HD or an Ipad Mini. I would rather get the Nook HD because of the price but I've heard a lot of things about Barnes and Noble going under (I know that's just rumors, but I want to be sure about what I'm buying), so would it be safer to buy an Ipad Mini? But the downside to buying an Ipad Mini is all I would use it for is reading so it seems like a waste of money when I could get the nook so much cheaper. Then again if Barnes and Noble is going under, would it be a waste to buy the nook not the Ipad? Please help!

On a side note, I do not want a Kindle so please do not suggest that. I like the layout of Barnes and Noble much better and I am more familiar with the website and store.
