Can you transfer your nook books from one nook to the other?

I have a Nook Glow Light and I am thinking about purchasing one of the new models which have recently come out.It is possible for me to transfer the books I have on this current nook onto the new one I want to purchase? Thanks in advance!

My nook color WILL NOT load?

I have a nook color, an dit will not load a webpage.It just stops an inch into, and it will not go further. I turned it off an dturned it back on all the way, but it will still not do it after many times. I thoight it was too overloaded, so i erased half my bookmarks and all my history. I deleted all the items from my home, too. But the webpage will still not load, an di am so confused. I do not hace access to a phone, so i cannot call the nook service. How can i make my webpahes function again?

I was at Hollister, and I was carrying my Forever 21 bag with my Forever 21 sweater, and a Barnes and Noble CD in it. I didn't buy anything in Hollister.As I exited the store, the alarm went off, and I stopped. Three employees, probably about 18 or 19 years old, ran out, and one of the guys said "Can I see your bag?" not in a kind way. I am still in my teens, and I got really nervous just because of the whole situation. I handed him my bag, and he dug through it and took out the sweater, and took out the Barnes and Noble bag, took out the CD. He took the sweater and waved it through the door a couple times, while I just stood there. Afterwards, he just said "Oh that's weird. Sorry about that", not in an apologetic tone.As I turned to leave, his friend/fellow employees laughed. I later learned at Forever 21 that the CD was what set off the alarms. When I was leaving Forever 21 again, the alarm went off, and a girl came over. Instead of accusing me, she just asked "Do you want me to make sure we took off the sensor? Sometimes we leave it on." I opened my bag, and she saw the CD, and simply just said "Oh, you're good.It was probably just the CD." And I left. I just want to know if Hollister had the right to sift through my bags. I know I gave it to him, but he was rude, intimidating, and accusing, and he caught me off guard, unlike the Forever 21 employee.

What is the best tablet for $200?

I am looking to buy a new tablet.It will actually be my first. I have a laptop, but want a tablet just for watching movies & surfing the web. I am looking to spend $200 maybe a little more, if I have too. Absolutely no more then $250. Since I am buying a new virgin mobile cell for $150-$200.So between the two I will be spending almost $500.

Anyway, I want 16GB of memory. I would like something that is fast, durable that doesn't smudge much or leave fingerprints. Something with droid 4.0 or higher.

I am looking at several tabs, but I figure I should ask anyone who may own one of these. If they are a good buy or just to avoid. I am sure this will help others too.My first choice was the Kindle Fire HD. When I was looking at a review of it online. I saw a review for a nexus 7. Then I saw a few more & it became a harder decision to make. I will just list the ones I am looking at below. If you know of one that may be better then these. Feel free to let me know. I do my homework on what I buy. I could use some help with this one though.

I haven't heard anything bad about the kindle fire hd, except amazon is to cheap to give you a charger. They just give you a cord to charge it via usb from a laptop. They charge $19.99 for their charger. You can buy a generic charger for $5-$10. I saw a complaint about the nexus 10 & screen issues. I wonder if that carries over to the 7. I would like as much feedback as possible.So if you own one of the above & just want to review that. I would be happy to see what you have to say. I want the pros & cons.

Why do Amazon and BN have the same prices on books?

I have a BN membership so I normally buy my books through them to get the free express shipping. I buy most, if not all of my video games from Amazon, so naturally I will do price compares between the two sites on books. A lot of times I will find that both places will have the books for the same exact price. I'm not talking ebooks, I'm talking physical ones. And the prices are not commonly set prices either. For example, $7.47.It seems odd that these two feuding companies would price their books the same. Nook vs Kindle and all that.

Should I have gotten in trouble for this?

Okay second hour we had an announcement about the Sandy Nook Shooting, and to tell the truth I knew nothing about the shooting. We were supposed to have a moment of silence for all who had perished in it. During the middle of the moment, a friend of mine sitting next me goes "Quack", me and another friend who was sitting on the other side of my first friend couldn't help ourselves, and we started laughing. I knew it wasn't funny, and I shouldn't have laughed, but I couldn't help myself! And then one of the tutors comes up to me and Wes, and starts yelling at us saying how we shouldn't have laughed at such a serious issue. I don't know anything about the shooting. I go, "I'm sorry, Jordan made us laugh." And she goes "Whatever," and walks off. Again, I knew it wasn't funny, and I shouldn't have laughed, but I couldn't help myself.

I still can't get over how so many people use Kindles and Nooks. I prefer an actual book. A lot of technology I agree with but not this one and its so disappointing that people use Kindles and Nooks.

'Rise of the Ogre' still in print?

I've been looking for a copy of the Gorillaz autobiography "Rise of the Ogre" in print, but I can't seem to find it; is it still even in print? If it is, where can I find it? And I don't want to buy a used copy from Amazon or Barnes and Nobles either since those are at least over $100.

What are some good paying jobs to have in college?

I'm going to a community college next year.My parents are helping with the tuition, so I won't be worrying about that. I will be moving into an apartment with some roommates near the campus, so I can take care of my two cats. The monthly pay per person is about $345, and monthly fees for the cats are $35 per cat. That's about $415, not to mention other fees during school and such. I'm going to get my GenEds(math, science, general core classes), out of the way. I live in a city where there will be plenty of jobs, and I will be getting several jobs this summer to save up money. I do have a job at the moment, but I'm part-time because of my grades. I have a lovely boss.
The places I am thinking of working at are: Barnes and Noble, a movie theatre, an antique shop, a restaurant. I think I will also freelance critique writing for other students, because I have a great deal of writing experience and people respect my opinion when it comes to writing, stories, etc.
So my question is, while I wouldn't turn my nose up at a minimum wage job, I want a job or jobs that will be able to pay me well-enough to be able to pay for myself and my cats. Please post helpful answers.Do not tell me to get rid of my cats. The apartment I am looking at is the only one I could find that is near the campus and is pet-friendly. Also, to current college students, what do you do for a job? If so, what is your schedule like? I will likely have a full schedule and I want to have time to do homework, as well as the occasional night out on the town. Thanks in advance!

Issue with barnes and noble?

I had sent a gift card from barnes and noble.com to my sister earlier in the month..as of the 10th, which it was sent she has not yet received it. I had contacted customer service and the apologized and said they would follow up on it and send a replacement..it takes 12-24 hours to respond, although i had not gotten the 1st email to confirm, i had sent out another inquiry and still waiting on that one. Has anyone here had any bad experiences.

How does Fifty Shades Freed end?

I read the first book and almost done with the second. The books are horribly written, the plot is non-existent. The characters are predictable and upsetting.It is a big burden trying to finish this second book. I hate starting a book and not finishing it, so I am forcing myself to finish the last 100 pages. Anyway, even though I bought the third book (Fifty Shades Freed) on my Nook, I know I won't be reading it.

I was going to get the Kindle Fire for myself because I want a ereader and do not like going to the library to get books anymore. But I have a labtop and a iPod touch, so I decided on the cheapest nook ereader because that's all I want it for--reading books.So my question is, does it limit me? Like for example, if you have the 1st gen.of the iPod Touch, you can not download apps that are for the 4th gen.iPod Touch, and it limits you.Is it the same with the Nook? I still feel like a child?

I'm 18 years old, I work 40 hours a week. I have a girlfriend who I want to marry. I'm in the DEP for the Air Force. I plan on going to school and then joining the navy and going SEAL. I try and try again to act like a man, basically my three flaws are as follow: lazy, undependable and have a quick temper. I don't look like a man, and I don't act like one. I act like a child and it sickens me, I want to be a SEAL one day and I can't even pay money when someone asks me to or remember simple ***. I just am constantly trying to act like a man, but the result is acting like a child trying to be a man. For instance, I was at the Barnes and noble bookstore tonight, my girlfriend kept saying she had to go home because it was getting late, then she knocked over a pile of books, now a man would've said okay honey, lets get going right after I look at one more thing and helped her pick up the books. Not me. I swore and walked away. When I see guys do that stuff I want to punch them in the face. For me to have done that I feel sick. Seriously. When will I begin to feel like a man, and should I try to act like a man or will it just come naturally. Because I am sick of myself to be honest.

Also if my library doesn't have a book I want we have something called an interlibrary loan where you pay 50 or 75 cents for them to borrow books from other librarys in our county so yeah=) better than paying 20 bucks for a book that I will only read once in my lifetime.

Are you conservatives aware that grade school children touch everything in the room?

I like guns. I own about 50 mainly inherited from my father and uncle. But a grade school classroom is no place for a loaded gun. I teach fifth grade for the Los Angeles Unified School District, in a ghetto. And the kids get into virtually every nook and cranny of the room and steal, and destroy, and touch stuff. The only way I could teach (and NO ONE in hot, hot, hot Los Angeles wears a coat to teach) is with a loaded handgun on my hip in a (hopefully) grab proof holster.

I cannot teach little kids with a loaded gun on my hip. Can't be done. Issues of trust and whatnot.

What kind of gift should I give my teachers for writing my recommendation? - 1

I asked two teachers to write a college recommendation for me. I already got into 2 of the colleges I applied to and haven't gotten a rejection letter yet. I hand wrote thank you notes for each of them but I also wanted to get something else for them. They're both men. One of them doesn't like coffee -- so no Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks gift cards. How about gift cards to Barnes & Noble (one of the teachers is an English teacher and the other loves reading)? Tell me what you think about the B&N gift card and also any other ideas would be awesome.

Also, don't tell me not to get them a gift and that it's weird. I've already decided that getting a nice gift for them would be the right thing to do.

I have liked this guy who is older than me by a year for 2 years. Idk why but, I just find him cute and really nice! Whenever I am around him, I become really aware of my surroundings! When he talks to me or I have to talk to him, I start getting shy and sometimes, I start getting really quiet or make a random comment even though it isn't my style.

Is the Nook HD+ as good as the Google Nexus tablet? Is the Nook HD+ much more limited in what apps you can install?

From the reviews I have read the Nook seems to be much more limited and setup in a way to force you into buying Barnes and Noble content, while the Google allows you more freedom.Is that correct?

I was able to get a brand new Nook HD+ for 50% off, due to a retailers poor wording in a coupon. While the price I got it for was superb, I am thinking about just selling it on Craigslist and using the money to buy a Nexus.

How exactly are eBooks sold?

I had a few concerns and am very puzzled as to just how you're supposed to sell an eBook online.

1. I was originally under the impression that if you publish an eBook, you can ONLY choose ONE online retailer to sell it on (Amazon, Google, eBooks.com, Barnes & Noble, etc.).

However, I just browsed through all three sites, and I found that most books, including books such as the Twilight and Hunger Games series, are being sold on Amazon's Kindle Store, Google Play, barnesandnoble.com, AND ebooks.com (and I'm assuming other places as well) simultaneously.

These are eBooks for download, not hardcover/print, and they are for sale.

So what's the deal here?

I was told that you had to choose ONE retailer and give them the rights to EXCLUSIVELY sell for up to TWO years (and hand over 25-35% of the profits).Is that true or not?

So why are these books being sold EVERYWHERE? Is there some kind of double standard in place here for "established" or "successful" authors?

2.In addition, Google Play states that eBooks purchased from them can be viewed online, on your computer, AND on various mobile devices …

… while Amazon just calls their the "Kindle" version and state that you need a KINDLE reader in order to read them.

Doesn't that severely cripple the number of potential customers if you try to sell an eBook on Amazon?

Because I also remember hearing that you could read eBooks downloaded in various file formats on OTHER tablet PCs (such as the iPad) as long as you downloaded an app from Amazon or another retailer that could "convert" their file formats into something that the iPad (or other tablet) can read?

3. Can eBooks be COPIED or not? Meaning if someone purchases them, do they have complete control over the digital file? Could they then make multiple copies and send them to friends/family (so that they wouldn't have to buy their own)? If so, wouldn't that hurt not only an author's digital sales, but also sales of physical copies? And if you are UNABLE to make a copy of the file, then what happens if the storage medium containing the eBook file gets damaged or destroyed (and you effectively lose the book)? Then do you have to REBUY what you already paid for if you want it back? If the retailer lets you redownload for free, how could you prove that the digital copy was lost at all?

Is there some sort of encryption or something that prevents the eBook from being read on a device that isn't logged into an account associated with the purchase? That's close to how PlayStation Network and Xbox Live manage their downloaded content, so I would imagine that that would be the most logical method.

But the whole system just doesn't make much sense to me.

I think started a few months ago when I noticed this female text messages, what kept my attention he did something for her in the job and she texted him thank you for doing my evaluation (job) he texted her back. I own you more.
so ye I got jealous so I confront him what do you own her, he said some pills i got from her ( but when I saw that pill before he told me aguy friend gave them to him, which was a lie). he was talking a bout the pills.after that there were a few phone calls.and no more text messages just a few realted with work.but I think he started being more careful and deleting probably text messages and phone calls.

How to confront my boss that my current schedule isn't working for me?

Hello. I am 19 years old and work part time at a Barnes and Noble.
I've been working there about 2 months, and when I started, I put down on my availability that I would prefer to have Fridays and Saturdays off.
My grandma is 83 years old, and I love her very much. I go to her house every Friday and Saturday and just spend time with her and help her around the house.
I clean for her and I do her laundry, and she really enjoys my company. Recently, I've had to call off these get togethers with my grandma because my boss continues to schedule me on Fridays and Saturdays.
And it's becoming a real issue. Those are the only days they have me scheduled for some weeks, and i just can't do it.
How do I confront my boss about this? I don't wanna put my job in danger, but I can't leave my grandma alone either.
What would you suggest?

Facebook won't display comments or likes on Nook Tablet?

I browse the web on a Nook Tablet and a week or so ago, Facebook stopped displaying likes and comments-not just on my own posts but on everybody's.

I get the notifications when something happens, but they're just not there when I go to them.It works fine on my phone, but not on the e-reader.

I tried changing the browsing mode, tried deleting my cookies and the browser cache, tried visiting the site through "https" instead of "http", changing my privacy settings-nothing.

Any help?

What's a good publishing company for authors without agents?

I recently wrote a novel (I plan to make it into a series) and just thought I would send it to a publisher to see what would happen, but all of the major publishing companies require the author to have an agent. I'm not willing to get one currently because paying an agent really isn't an option right now. I also don't want to have to pay a fee to publish it, although that should be a given. And I would prefer it to be a fairly well known one as well, or at least one that gets books into good stores like Barnes and Noble. I don't expect to make a lot of money off my book - especially since it's not going to be published by a big company - but I would like at least a few people to read it. Or if a big publishing company is having a time frame for agent-less authors to send in their manuscripts (like HarperVoyager did in October) then please tell me that as well.

Which e-reader is better for manga?

I'm trying to decide on the most basic version of an e-reader possible to read manga. I know that usually you have to find the manga somewhere then convert it to be read on your e-reader. But which e-reader makes this process the easiest?

I'm trying to avoid anything more than a kindle paperwhite or nook glowlight. I don't want a "tablet" and I don't need color. I'm really looking at either the Kindle Paperwhite or Nook with glowlight. I refuse to go above $200. ($150 or less is what I'd like).
