Where can I buy manga in California?

I've been buying manga online for a while now, and I'm getting tired of it. Between waiting sometimes weeks for it to arrive and the added costs, there must be a better way.So, I am wondering where the best places to buy them in person are. I live near the Bay Area, if that helps. I was considering going to something like Barnes and nobles, what is their selection like? I'm not into things like naruto and bleach, looking for things a bit less vanilla, like higurashi and mirai Nikki.Am I going to be disappointed if I walk in looking for things like this? Thanks.

As in, say, McDonald's requiring a Master's degree in Culinary Arts or Barnes and Noble requiring a Ph. D in Philosophy.

I have an essay to write and i know we learned a word in Econ for it.

I'm talking about the trend of employers start asking a lot more than "normal"/usual.

Its not overqualification, its more like overqualification becoming the standard. I need the word for that trend.

Where to Buy Hardcover Stephen King Books?

I love Stephen King books and have many of them. I usually but them hardcover on Amazon. I always buy hardcover because they look much nicer and are so much more durable. Books like The Stand and It were not meant for paperback.My struggle is that when I buy the books on Amazon I don't know how good they actually are. I also have trouble getting books with dust jackets on them. I have returned so many books over the purchases.Is there any bookstore where I can get Stephen King books hardcover? I have tried Barnes and Noble but they only have paperback editions. If I could get a helpful answer than I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Is this a Bed bug or not (pic)?

I see this little bug hanging on the bright lamp in the room. I inspected it for about 15 minutes and it looks like a beetle with fury like legs.It moves a bit slow. I placed it outside and it seems to have flown away or jumped off the paper. I've searched the beds, clothing, and furniture and I don't see any bed bugs at all.It was hard to take a detailed pic but if you look really close the head on this bug is similar to that of a beetle, it's almost box shaped, it's a weird shape but not the tick like shape of bed bugs.

I swore once I saw a clear bug climb into my keyboard and it was never to be seen again. I live in a rural area now and I've seen a lot of strange bugs in my home. I've seen some ants, spiders (of different colors, and sizes), small window bugs, silverfish etc… I question whether there are bedbugs in here because I have a ringworm like bite on my arm and a few nights ago there seemed to be a bite near my groin area and sometimes I break out with bumps on face or one on my leg. I was told that you get a lot of seasonal allergies out here.

I am up at all hours day and night and I have not seen any bed bugs. I even have white sheets and I still don't see any signs of bedbugs. I've checked the outlets and pretty much every nook and cranny and nothing is to be found.

What books can you recommend?

Ok.So I've read a lot. Some of My favorite books are The Virgin Suicides, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Go Ask Alice and The Hunger Games. I hated the Twilight Saga. I never really had an interest in Harry Potter. I liked the Phantom Tollbooth and Alice in Wonderland. I went on a spree the other day at Barnes and Noble and brought: The Lovely Bones, Battle Royale, And Then There were none, Slaughter House Five, World War Z, The Great Gatsby, A Catcher in the Rye, Looking for Alaska, A Clockwork Orange, Lucy in the Sky and Crank.
I read really fast and I was wondering what books I should read after these. Thank You!

How to find recent Google searches on Nook Color tablet?

My son got a Nook tablet for Christmas and I am wanting to see what he has been Googling. The history I am referring to is the one on the Google homepage in 'mobile' view when you began to type in a word it automatically shows the previous searches. Trying to get a job at Barnes & Noble?

I applied about a month ago and I called about 2 weeks after I applied and they said it usually takes a month to get through the apps. Then I called after a month had passed to inquire and they told me they would call me as soon as possible.It's been 2 weeks and they haven't called me. I really want to work there but I don't want to keep calling back all the time and become annoying. Any pointers you can give me?

I would really appreciate some outside opinion?

I kinda have a problem. I am in high school and I really can't seem to find were my nook in my life is. I mean I'm not super smart or have the best grades, I'm not a sports guy really, I'm not a heavy gamer either. I am generally known as the shy kid who is socially inept. I have friends but to be honest I;m kind of their punching bag for when they have bad days and and need to throw it at someone else. We are all kind of geeks, like we all like comics and sci fi, except for one of my friends who I suspect has the need to be superior to me. He always tries to embarass me in front of his other more popular friends and I'm always trapped in my problem, not knowing where I belong with people generally. I've talked to my parents, who both have differing opinions on what I should do and the school guidance counselor doesn't really pay attention to my problem (but then again there is alot of people at my school) and my friends don't really care. Summarized, I am a really shy kid, who fades into the background of every situation I'm put in and I am the stress ball for my friend sproblems and can't even solve my own! I know this is pretty long but I would REALLY appreciate if somebody could answer with having read the entire paragraph. Thanks Guys

Rooting Nook color? What all does this do?

So there isn't an actual facebook app or really any normal apps. I have heard that you can turn it into an Android tablet or something like that? I don't really know what the Android market is like I have always had an Iphone/Ipod touch. Does this have normal apps like facebook, sports apps (like scores). I have an Iphone so it isn't a huge deal not to have apps.

So is the only way to get the good apps by this "rooting" the nook? If I do so will this allow me to still be able to buy books and use the B&N store. Like would they somehow know? Also is it illegal to do this? How hard is it to do something like this and is it reversible if something goes wrong

I bought a nook color off ebay and it is only coming with the usb cord. I imagine I could charge it via my computer. I was curious if I could plug it into what came with my iphone because they are both standard usb. Does anyone know if this will work? I didnt know if it would give it too much or too little juice.

I have been given a $10.00 Gift Certificate to buy ANYTHING from Barnes and Noble Bookseller.
It has been far too long since I had BOUGHT any books (the last book I bought was the Broadcast Announcing book I bought from my community college for the course I took at that time - 2003.)

I still try to read at every opportunity I get. Finding interesting topics is the challenge.

I do re-read the few Paul Harvey - Rest… of the story books that I bought, hearing (thinking) his broadcasting finesse.
I do have a NOOK System - from Barnes & Noble outlet that I try to use.

This Gift Certificate will allow me to buy either In-store or Online.

Bookstores that sell yaoi manga in the bay area?

There are barely any bookstores in my area(about 80% of the time I'm in SJ, but I really end up all over the bay area), and the only one within walking distance is Barnes and Noble and I have never found any yaoi there. I read a lot online, but I really love books themselves and I love adding things to my collection, even things that I've already read. If I ever do find the rare yaoi book, I can usually slip it by my mother if I buy a few other things, but I prefer to shop by myself. The problem with buying things online is that my mother sees EXACTLY what I'm buying, and a lot of the time I can't buy exactly what I want that way. Plus, I really just like shopping by myself. I buy some yaoi at the conventions I go to, but sometimes I end up getting carded and that's frustrating as hell(damn plastic wrapped ones always get me: P) So what I'm asking is, does anyone know any stores in the bay area(CA, you know) that sell yaoi manga? Even bookstores with a large amount of manga in general? I'm really looking for a new shop, and my used bookshops sell nothing CLOSE to yaoi. Any help in general would be good, thank you very much :)

Was given a Nook HD, and old owner is reporting stolen?

Well, I was given a gift for my birthday.It was Nook HD. I don't read on it much, so the old owner told me not to worry about it, and if I need to buy anything, just call and sign it in my name, and take hers off.(we were really good friends) I mostly used internet on it, but I went ahead and signed out of her accounts and such. Well, we got in a fight, and now shes telling people it was stolen, and she knows the person who stole it, and now shes threatening to call Barnes and Nobles about it. Alright, but here's my question. Can Barnes and Noble actually turn the Nook 'off'? As in not allow it to be powered up again? and if not, if I power it up again, will they like, track it and report it to police or something like that? So, if I power it up, will I be in any danger at all of being, oh I don't know, arrested or some crap like that? If not, then ill try to re regrister it in my name.

I borrowed and broke it, what do I do?

I borrowed a NOOK cord from my neighbor and I just plugged it into my NOOK and it bent a little bit.It still works, believe me, I tested it and it works. How to get the WWE app on my Nook HD?

I recently upgraded from a Nook Color, to a Nook HD, mainly because it's more powerful, and now has the Google Play store on it. Yet there are certain app, mainly the WWE app, that it says are incompatible with my device. I'm unable to install the Amazon App Store, which is not surprising. Has anyone else had this issue? Nook, Kobo or Kindle?

I'm looking to buy an E-reader and I'm torn between the Nook, Kobo and Kindle. I'm not concerned with an Internet connection or even audio capability. The Nook simple touch seems to be the best vfm at the moment (with half-price deals etc), but looking at the availability of books, they seem to be all from American sources and (presumably) that means written by Americans as well. (We are still divided by a common language.)
My wife has a Kindle with no problems at all.can any owners give more enlightenment on the differences

All wifi devices fail to connect to any public network?

I live in an apartment building with free WiFi and there are 2 different ssid's available but neither one will work on our desktop/phones/nook or ps3. They are not secure (no password to connect) and we were connected just fine 3 days ago but since Friday nothing works. We told the manager about it but they say that they are connected. I don't understand how this is possible. The main problem I want resolved is my desktop since I need internet for work, as of now im using my phones data but its incredibly irritating. I'm using a netgear wna1100 n150 adapter and it says the driver is up to date and working but even trying to connect to a secure network (just to see if it would) it doesn't even display the "enter password here" box, just says something wrong and to run troubleshoot.

Now when I run troubleshoot, it says cannot connect to hidden network or my network settings don't match the router. I'm so confused because the ssid is displayed like always, how is it hidden?

Am I turning into a wicked person?

Okay let me give you some background info… This seemed to start at my prom a couple of weeks ago. I was in a group-an all single group. When we got there the people in my group ended up hooking up with other people, everyone, but me. I was left alone to look after everyone's things as they danced. Then my two best friends ended up hooking up and have left me high and dry, lying to me even. They said they were both grounded and couldn't do anything this weekend, but I saw them yesterday while at Barnes and Noble.My parents divorced when I was seven, and my dad lives in another state, so while my mom is working I have to sacrifice my time and watch my little siblings, oh I also had to give away MY car because we couldn't afford it, while my cousin got a brand new one for his birthday. I had to quit my job, my mom is always on my case about every little thing and to top it off I now cant go to the college I want to.
Now here is why I think I'm turning wicked… I never smile anymore, I seem to get very angry out of nowhere, I wished that I could feel nothing, I'm rude to nearly everyone, and while watching Harry Potter with my younger siblings I wanted Voldemort to win, I want my friends to break up, and I want them to pay for lying to me and abandoning me! So am I turning wicked?

I have noticed that B&N have nice comfy chairs where people can sit and read books and the Starbucks Cafe make it even easier to just pick a book and read it.It's like a library. How does B&N do business then if someone can just come to B&N everyday, pick up a book and read it til their brain explodes?

Present-day ones. Not the ones like Wuthering Heights. I know about manybooks.net, but that's for the old books like Shakespeare and Hemingway. Should I root my nook simple touch?

I was looking to see how I could check my twitter through my nook simple touch and i found that i could root it to an android type tablet. I thought it looked cool so i thought i should give it a shot. But now I'm wondering if i should. I mainly just use it to read, since that's all it can be used for, but i'm wondering if it's worth it to root it. What can you do with a rooted nook simple touch? Is it worth it to root my nook? If you think i should, where can i find good instructions? (It's updated to 1.2.1 btw)
