EReader or Tablet? (up to £70)?

So im looking for portable e reader to read my.pdf books i collected over the years for low price, but i see that some tablets similar size cost pretty much the same amount as e readers, and offer me internet connection, and some extras so im kinda torn between these options:

VERSUS Touchpad 7 Tablet - 8 GB
KINDLE Black
NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight eReader
KOBO Mini eReader
ATTAB 4.3" Tablet - 4 GB

If anyone could offer me advice on any of these but the main thing is ebook reading, readability of.pdf files, convertibility of.pdf to be able to read them if its not possible to open them straight, and quality of the product if anyone has it, any use full information is welcomed

I can't get a job yet but I have a savings of 150 $ shoul I get the nook hd plus which my dad will buy for me for school or nikon j1 camera that's on sale for 299$ which my dad will help pay for. Should I wait till I can get a job maybe around winter to buy the dslr camera or get the nook hd+ please helpp ://

Are eTextbooks worth it for college? - 1

I'm heading to college next week, and a big question popped up in my head… with the new iPad coming out most likely in September, should I wait and buy an iPad and then get eTextbooks, or should I stick to simple old textbooks? eTextbooks aren't really much cheaper, but carrying around my iPad all day sure does beat carrying 100 pounds of textbooks. I do have a few concerns though:

1. Reading text on an LCD screen is more straining on the eyes than reading actual text
2. Highlighting key points may be harder on an iPad (but you can search for stuff on an iPad)
3. If my battery is dead, I don't have my books
4. You can't resell eTextbooks
5. I have to wait until September for the new iPad (I guess I can use my laptop for books until then?)

However, here are some pros:

1. I can search the entire book for certain words or phrases on my iPad instantly
2. I don't have a bunch of books to haul around all day
3. I get a new iPad that will last a few years
4. I don't have to wait in line at the book store with every other person needing books (my school has 50, 000 students)

So there are pros and cons to each, and if I had to choose now, I'd get the iPad in a heartbeat. However, since I've never been to college, I don't know the challenges that may be associated with either option.So, from experience or just personal opinion, what do you think I should do?

Please put money aside, and think of this from the prospective of convenience. If it's more expensive one way but way more convenient, I'd rather choose that route. Also, this isn't a debate over which tablet is better (Nook, iPad, Kindle). I'm asking about eTextbooks over normal textbooks.

Where can one find an animated version of the Game of Thrones books?

I am currently in the third book of George R. R. Martin's A Story of Ice and Fire Series, (which the show Game of Thrones is based on) and I am wondering if there are versions of the books with art work. I own the paper backs, but recently went into Barnes and Nobles to look at a hard cover version and found it to be generally the same as the paper back. I'd love to see an artists interpretation of some of the characters and scenes from the story.

What is a trade review in regards to getting my book sold in Barnes and Noble Stores?

I am trying to get a self-published book into the Barnes and Noble stores. On their website they state that in order to do that you have to do the following:

If you would like your title to be considered for placement in Barnes & Noble stores, please submit a copy of the book (no manuscripts, please), along with marketing and promotion plans, trade reviews, and a note describing what makes the book unique.

I have researched what a trade review is and I can't pinpoint exactly what they're asking for. Need help!

Can I read books i bought on iTunes on a nook?

I'm trying to decide which tablet to buy. I have an iPod, and reading books on it SUCKS. I was thinking on getting an iPad mini, but nooks sound a lot better (they're a LOT cheaper).It would suck to have to rebuy some of the books I bought with iTunes. If I end up having to buy it, how much would it cost? Would it be expensive? If I put my debit card under my name, would it charge me every time I bought a book even if I had a gift card?

What 7-inch tablet should I buy?

Sorry for probably the nine jillionth "what should I buy" question on this subject, but I'm about to drive my family crazy hemming and hawing and dithering about purchasing my first tablet, and I can't make up my mind and I need some advice.

I want to buy a tablet. I have $150 to spend for a tablet and case, no more (although for one of my options I might have to dig deeper for a few more quarters).So a 2013 Nexus 7 or anything else in that price range isn't happening. I could wait until I could do a little more, but I'm really not inclined to, plus I view this as a getting my foot in the door situation just to see if I'm going to LIKE a tablet.My only experience with such things is my kid's Kindle Fire and iPod Touch, and I kind of THINK that I'm going to like a tablet, maybe even get hooked on it, but I'm not sure enough to drop $200-$300 first time out.

So I'm thinking my options are a used first-generation Nexus 7, or a new Hisense Sero Pro 7 or ASUS Memo Pad HD 7. I had considered a refurb Galaxy Tab 2 but the specs don't match these, and one of the Nook HD's B&N is clearing but it lacks a camera and while I'm not much of a photographer my understanding is that a camera is needed for some apps to work.

I'm basically looking for something to surf the web, do Twitter and Facebook with, play music (most of stuff is Amazon, I've downloaded a bit from Google Play and am gravitating there more and more because of higher bit rate MP3 encodes, but the vast majority of my music is self-ripped from CDs), play videos (again, much self-ripped), read books with (all are Amazon because I have an original Kindle e-reader), read PDFs with, use as a GPS and use a few boring news/sports/music related apps with (I do not game, at all, and have no plans to start).

It's doubtful that I'll root the thing or look for an alternate ROM, although I see a lot of first-gen Nexus 7's out there with CM, etc., already on it and that would not dissuade me from trying it. I'm basically looking for something that's just going to "work" when I need it, period, when I turn it on, without having to do a lot of user maintenance or have to worry about the thing disintegrating if I breathe on it wrong. Neither am I going to obsess over not getting the latest Android update exactly when everyone else does.

I don't use the Cloud and have no inclination to start, being that so much of my content is self-ripped and I don't have time to upload it nor am I prepared to purchase the extra storage it would take, but a 32-gig Nexus should be sufficient, although the SD card option for the others is attractive, would make it easier to change out content (and would be a must given Hisense's 8 gig internal, the ASUS is a bit better at 16).

And I'm not going to obsess about screen resolution, either, eyes aren't good enough in my middle-aged years to worry about seeing every skin pore on a person's face when I'm watching video on a 7-inch screen.

So, which of these tablets would best suit my needs at the best price? Thanks in advance for any help.

I know your not suppose to use social media sites but the nurse on duty said it was okay for me to see if she would like it. So I've been saving recently with no job for a dslr camera. I have like 150. Recently my dad told me this weekend he would buy me the nook hd+.Do you think I should get that since I could use ot dor books and stuff or get the nikon 1 camera (ashton kutvher modeled the cam for commercial) my dad would help pay for the rest of the camera. So I'm in the Great Deku Tree and I go down to the "Basement" after breaking the web, and right after I light the web on fire that leads to the door, it just freezes. Please help! I push the home button and try to re-open the program and it just black screens.

Last night me and my boo was making nook nook and he made a mistake and nutted inside me, we is scared he might of got me pregnant, I already have 4 kids and I can't afford more than that, plus they daddies would be angry if I made a baby of an other race, what are the best home remedies to stop the pregnants? I heard if u stick a potato wedge in there the juice supposed to be able to kill the sperms, what other stuff can I do such as sprays or exercises that will stop the pregnants?

Nook stuck on start up screen for two years!

Two years ago I had been using my moms first generation nook to read in school. That year she had giving me my own nook touch and after I transferred the files I noticed that the older nook was stuck on the start screen. I just put the nook in my drawer thinking it would just die after a while. Come two years later and I find that it's still on that screen. Holding the power button doesn't help and neither does taking out the battery. Please help me.

Why are employers such as starbucks and other retail companies so picky nowadays?

I have a college degree at a school that is probably a lot better than the people managing these stores. Its like you have to work as a barista or bookseller or sales associate for 10 years to get hired or something. "We're looking for more experience." Ok I've worked in a starbucks before and had to leave so I could write my thesis. Its not a hard job… Selling books isn't either. Omg you need 10 years experience in book selling nowadays to work at barnes and noble. Why would you hire someone with that much experience in selling books? They should be moving up the ladder to a better job… and getting higher degrees. The only reason I got my job at starbucks the first time is because my sister's best friend and roommate just happened to be a store manager, so she made sure they hired me basically. I felt over qualified for the job but did as I was told. Most of the people I was working with were very rude and had no interest in college or ever getting a degree. Maybe it was just the area I was in at the time. But I worked at two different locations now that I think about it. They acted the same at both locations.

Does this count as depression? If not is there something to be done about it?

The last four months have been hard. A cousin died in April, my sister died one month after, I had to get rid of her guinea pigs who I thought were awesome little rodents because I could not take care of them the way she did.

And two weeks ago, I had to put one corgi down because her congestive heart failure had caught up with her and put her sister down with her because she was paralyzed in the back end and having seizures almost daily.So, i am alone now.

But you know what? That is what I want.To just be alone and read. I have always dealt with things with humor. I still have friends and things to get me out of the apartment. But I do not really derive joy from them anymore. They feel like obligations more than something to treasure. I still joke around constantly. I still smile.No one who knows me thinks I am taking things at all hard. But really, all I want to do is stare at my Nook all day and friends are getting in the way of that.

Is it depression when no one thinks you are depressed? Is it best to just ride this out for a few months or should I do something?

Filling out a job application?

I'm sixteen and currently a junior in high school. I'm applying at my local Barnes & Noble, in the cafe to be exact. I'm filling out an application and it says "This role requires early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday availability. Are you willing and able to work this availability?" I obviously can't work early morning since I have to go to school. Should I say no? Would that just take me out of the running for the job? I guess since they hire at age 16, they would understand school schedules and what not. Help please?

I found my old sketchbook!

Hi!!! I found my old sketch book and I only used like 5 pages in it. I have like more than 250 pages left! It's a nice one from Barnes and Nobles that I got with some birthday money a while back. (It was about $15-$20 dollars I believe and it's really pretty.It has a black lace place holder, sturdy pages and almost like a leather black material. I recommend getting one!)
I'm so excited to use it! Only, I don't know what to draw… I've never been a great artist. I have always been determined to draw since my dad is like an artist and my mom is H-O-R-I-B-L-E at drawing so I guess I was born with my moms hand sadly.
Any ideas of easy things to draw/tutorials?

What are some helpful tips for getting a cat to accept and then use a new litter box?

I have 2 female cats, a silver tabby about 10 yrs old and a calico that is maybe 3 yrs old, and over the years it was getting to where it was taking a considerable effort to keep the area surrounding the box clean. Almost on a daily basis, 1 of the two ( and sometimes both) would miss the inner wall of the litter box when urinating, and from time to time they would rake the " kitty biscuits" out of the box.

Lo and behold the old litter box let me down again, so I went and bought a box that has a separate attachment that raises the box height another 3 inches or so. I then replaced the old box, complete with fresh litter that the cats were familiar with, and placed the box in the same space as the old box. The was at lunch time.By dinner time, neither cat had used the box and they were becoming quite vocal and somewhat distressed, to say the least.By bedtime, they STILL hadn't used the box, so I unfastened the wall extender, and left the girls to their privacy. Sure enough, almost immediately one of the girls relieved herself, but the other had an "accident" I had to clean up.

What are some helpful hints to get the cats to accept the wall extender, and thus stop the litter being flung onto the floor, the urine puddles and the inevitable kitty biscuit or two??? Due to my health, it has gotten to where I cannot bend down to inspect the nooks and crannies to make sure no litter fell in them. The "old way" isnt an option any more, so I have to make the best of the situation.

Any help is truly appreciated!!!
Added (1). EDIT--- One important detail I forgot--- To give the cats maximum privacy I saved a small corner of the laundry room and made it so the cats didn't get spooked if they just so happened to be doing their business. That area limits me in left- right and front- back dimensions, but it doesn't on the up/down.

Wierd stuff keeps happening, how to get rid of negative energy?

It used to be alot worse I used to be trapped in the bed and a demon would hold me down and scream come with me. But that calmed down and now I just have really depressing dreams like being trapped in a forest alone and wierd sensations like waterdrops on the skin and bee stings but having nothing there. The creepiest thing though is I keep getting cut and bruised.My cuts are in a row on my left leg.It started with a scar on my foot, then a stitches looking scar on my piggy toe (almost like a design) then a wooden sharp thing in my room fell on my leg 2 times and left these deep wide open cuts going up my leg that looks like I just got out of hunger games or something. Then random bruises started showing up like a bruise on my inner thigh (I admit that was before the cuts but all the ones I explain after this were immediatly after the cuts) a green bluish bruise on my upper right leg, and the worst is the bruise on my elbow, it's so weird looking because it keeps changing bad colors like bluish green to purple but it's so small and the bruises are seperated. Before the bruise showed up on my elbow I felt beestings but no bee. And I will admit I killed a bug rather viciously before that happened (hit it with a shovel while pulling weeds).

Sorry to talk so much but this is reminding me of more. The lady that I pull weeds for feeds crows in her front yard and our entire neighborhood is infested with birds. They climb on our roof and stare at me through the roof window.My parents tried to poison them to stop them but they kept coming back and only one died. Anyway I kept ignoring the birds but everytime I would go outside a whole flock of them would caw and never stop and then one stared at me with the most devilish look so I went and gave them a go on git chase. I'm the type of awkward person who always get caught doing wierd things even though I try to do good things so I know I'm known as wierd. But lately people have been staring at me shell shocked everywhere I go like I give a bad aura. And animals/babies used to be really nice to me even through the demon dreams but now that I've stopped being paranoid and convinced I deserve everything handed to me birds and dogs go freakin ballistic everytime I'm around.
I don't deserve bad karma. I have a Virgo north node and Pisces south node so I could have been horrible in a past life but none of this stuff makes sense especially because out of all the wierd stuff that's happened to me I still feel protected. Whenever I'm sad, I always get messages through tv or songs never to make me completely happy but just not suicidal that could only completely relate to me at the moment. I never get a broken bone or anything. I always feel like I'm being watched. I've never got a chance to be around drugs or anything that messes up your life. For example: when I was a preteen and wanted to be glamorous it was never possible for me to take a revealing picture whether I didn't have a camera or magically fell asleep or what. I watched the movie Hercules and Hercules seemed alot like me even though I'm a girl. I assume he's an Aquarius too. And my dad is a Capricorn and they were talking about Hercules being a Capricorn rising which is pretty amazing.My mom's a Sag too and as I said my north node is a Virgo which makes my south node Pisces and if you think about it Cap, Sag, Aquarius and Pisces are all the most powerful signs in the elements. I know alot of info that most people don't. Most people stop at the illuminati but I'm interested in every nook and cranny in the world.
