Why can't I read at home?

I'm a huge reader, and I mean HUGE. I read whenever I get the chance to. One thing I've come to notice is I can really only read a book if I'm in school, or at a library or something. Everytime I try reading when I'm home, or at the beach, or anywhere else, I get bored faster. Usually when I'm in school, if I had enough time, I could read a book in one sitting. When I try reading at home, or at the beach or something, I'd be lucky if I can read 50 pages. Why is it this happens? I usually have boring summers, and it would be nice to be able to read a book at home, instead of having to go to the library everytime I want to read, or my local Barnes & Noble.
