Should we stay where we are at?

My best friend and I live together.
We currently live in a one bedroom apartment.
I just graduated and will be working soon. (Just accepted job offer).
He has been working for a few months.
We both will be making a good salary ($7.5k a month together), but should it be wasted on rent?
He has his bedroom, and mine is in the dining room (I use a curtain as the door). Our apartment is a little old, but is kept up by the owners really well. They are also currently remodeling the outside.

Do you think it would be worth it to move into a two bedroom so I can have an actual bedroom?

Pros of Current Apartment:
Its only $700 a month total (w/o utilities)
It's really big (1100 sqft)
Great location (near everything)

Cons:
My bedroom is in the dining room (we use the breakfast nook as dining room)
We share a closet

Pros of New Apt.:
Newer
Two bedroom (I get an actual bedroom)
My own closet

Cons:
Won't be in the middle of everything (but still a decent location)
Will be about $900 a month total (w/o utilities)
Will be smaller (850sqft)

What's your opinion?

Apartment gutted for renovations, landlord asking for damage payment?

We lived in an apartment for 8 years and turned in our keys on Monday. I found out from neighbors that our entire apartment was gutted (flooring, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, you name it and it was removed). All that is left is an empty canvas.

Today I received a letter from the management company stating we damaged the kitchen cabinets under the sink which was caused by a disposal leak that took them almost a month to come an fix.

Why are they charging us for something they tore out knowing they are renovating the entire unit as they have just about more than half of the community in the past year.

What are our options to fight it? I took over 150 pictures of the place right before I turned in the keys to document every nook and cranny of that apartment and there was no major damage other than your typical wear and tear from living in a 20+ year old apartment.

My cat is petrified.did she see something while i was at work?

Every night when I get home my cat greets me at the door. Today, she was hiding in the coat/key nook which is elevated off the ground. She never does that. She was meowing for me to come over to her because she wouldn't jump down at first. Finally, she did jump down. She then proceeded to very cautiousloy prowl around the apartment, the way cats do when they're afraid of something. Every time I moved she jumped a foot. Very skiddish. This is not like her.

We live in a small studio apartment … it is not very clean (oops.) We do have cock roaches and stink bugs. A few nights ago she spotted a spider on the ceiling and reacted to it by chirping … calling it to my attention so I could kill it.It was a big green spider.

We're on the third floor. All the windows were closed… and she wasn't looking out the windows anyway… she was looking on the floor…

what could she have seen that would scare her that much??? I've been home almost an hour and shes still a little on edge… I've never seen a rodant in here, but wouldnt be surprised. Would a cat be that afraid of a snake?

Did I do the right thing for her?

So my best friend is this pretty, nerdy and totally innocent girl.
She always likes the losers though. She met this guy who goes to our school and Barnes and Nobles in the manga section, and ever since then she has been fast friends with this chubby, asian guy and she has a huge crush on him.
He asked me if she was interested in him, and I told him she said he was too ugly for her.
I know it was mean, and shes been so upset cause I guess he has been avoiding her, but I am trying to look out for her. She deserves better.
But did I do the right thing? Shes just so much more than some anti-social nerdy Otaku who plays final fanstasy and is an asian with bad skin…
