A buddy of mine just received a box of parts, covered in cosmoline. And there were no directions on how to clean it off, and out of the nooks and crannies it was packed into, other than… "Please to remove all cosmoline before assembly and operations."
This stuff reminds me of Vaseline that went bad and dried out some what. The stuff that is on solid parts, wipes off a lot easier than the stuff that is crammed into parts with holes for other things to fit into it. And some parts it looks like it dried on and had more applied a lot later (two different colors) and the dried on stuff does not wipe off at all.
Is there some sort of solution that melts this stuff?
