Is a Barnes and Noble membership really worth it?

I am trying to decide whether I should get the Barnes and Noble membership. I do buy a lot of books, but $250 just to break even sounds like a lot.
Last year I bought a lot of books, like $300 worth of books, and that would have been great then, but I don't see me doing that this year, but I don't know.
Do you get added benefits on top of just 10%?
What kind of coupons come in my email that don't come usually (by just signing up for mail list)?
Do you get an extra 40% off of Hardcover books? I know the online price is already pretty good.
Do you get the same discounts online?
When they send you the first batch of coupons, what are some good ones?
Thanks.
